Benefit Cosmetics The POREfessional Primer: Review

Just when I had started enjoying the cool pleasant weather in the capital city, out of nowhere came the heat. I know I complain a lot about the weather but that is because it is so damn unpredictable and everything right from my skin to my hair start reacting instantly to the change and don’t even get me started about all my makeup melting off. One product that I decided to try out to prevent the same was Benefit Cosmetics The Porefessional Primer.

Price: $12 for 7.5 ml

Benefit is one brand that comes up with the funniest of names and the fanciest of packaging. The primer comes in a tiny blue plastic tube with a black cap. The cap opens up to a small nozzle which is the perfect size to dispense the appropriate amount of product. The packaging is quite sleek and handy to use as well as travel with.

Benefit Porefessional Primer has a gel based texture that spreads on the skin easily. The primer is silicon-based which makes the texture very easy to work with but it can cause reaction if your skin is allergic to silicon or sensitive in general.

I do not have alot of open pores but I do suffer from uneven complexion especially around my nose which this primer helps to counter. I did lend the product to be tested on a friend that has a huge enlarged pores issues and she gave me quite a good feedback. The primer doesn’t clog pores and reduces any sort of redness or discoloration that generally come hand in hand with open pores.

As a primer, you expect oil and shine control and porefessional doesn’t disappoint. It keeps my makeup in place for a good 5-6 hours specifically my t-zone which is obviously the pain areas for a combination-oily skin.

Overall, I absolutely love the primer and how it makes my face oil free. I know the silicon-based ingredients are not good for the skin but most primers that work for oily skin, are silicon-based. I adore the way my skin looks all even and the redness vanishes as soon as I apply it. The only issue I have with the primer is that for a tube that is the size of my palm, this product is pretty expensive.
