Benefit Sugarlicious Lip & Cheek Kit: Review & Swatches

Somewhere around my birthday last year( which was in May), N went to Singapore and got me a very cute gift…the Benefit Sugarlicious Lip & Cheek Kit :). I don’t how I ended up not using it for soo long but a few days back I had a wedding in the family and this kit came so handy that I decided to write about it as soon as I reached home.

Price: $ 28 ( she got it on discount 🙂 )
The Benefit Sugarlicious set is packaged in a sturdy cardbox box with a flip cover. The flip cover has a big mirror attached to which basically makes this ideal for application and touch ups on the go. I love how it looks like a small jewellery box…and its definitely one of the prettiest packaging I have seen. It also comes with a little tips and tricks book that describes the right way to use each product.

In this kit you find travel size bottles of Benetint Original Rose-tinted Lip and Cheek Stain and the High Beam Luminescent Complexion Enhancer, along with a 3 gm sample of Sugarbomb blush, a full size tube of the Ultra Plush Lip Gloss in Sugarbomb and a small blush brush.

Now that you have seen how gorgeous this kit looks…let me talk a little about the products in it
I was looking for a chance to grab this product for so long  that you can’t imagine how I excited I was to see it in this kit. This is one of the most popular products from Benefit cosmetics and now that I have used it I know why :). Benetint definitely looks pretty scary in the bottle but when you apply it, it gives you such a natural and beautiful soft pink finish that you will be addicted to it. I could see the faint tint on my cheeks even after 5-6 hours on my oily skin so I will say it has great staying power.

High Beam
Another popular product from benefit. I love contouring and highlighting is a very important part of the contouring process. Unfortunately, Indian market doesn’t really have to many good options when it comes to highlighters so I used to use champagne colored eyeshadows instead of an highlighter. Now that I have tried High Beam, I don’t think eye shadows are going to cut it for me anymore. I love how it blends so effortlessly and gives you that perfect glow. Staying power is the same as benetint….it just doesn’t budge 🙂

Sugarbomb Blush
This blush has 4 triangles of different blush shades and until and unless you are planning to use a blending brush to apply the blush, I wouldn’t suggest trying to applying one single color. Just swirl your blush brush on the pan and you will end up with this shimmery peachy blush. The product did disappoint me in terms of pigmentation and staying power but its such a gorgeous color that I don’t really touching up. It stayed on me for around 3 hours post which it started fading leaving tiny shimmer particles behind.

Sugarbomb Lipgloss
I am not a big fan of this lip gloss even though it has the perfect texture and is not sticky in consistency. Its just that the shade is little dull  and the pigmentation a little too low for me but if you are a fan of sheer lip gloss then I think you will like it.

Blush Brush
OK…I knows I always say that I never expect anything from brushes and applicators that come with the products but I genuinely had a certain kind of expectation in terms of quality from this one…I mean come on……its coming in a benefit cosmetics kit. Anyhow, the bristles are rough and I prefer using my fingers rather than the brush to blend the products.

Overall, I like the kit as I was finally able to try benetint and highbeam without making a huge dent in my savings plus the pretty peachy blush is an added bonus. I do plan to pick up the full size versions of benetint and highbeam once I am through this kit but it you want to try them before buying the full size product…I would recommend you to pick up this kit.
