Biotique Bio Pineapple Oil Control Foaming Face Cleanser: Review

Since I am almost in my 30s (which is a topic of discussion for another post), I have started making changes in my skincare. I have bought some fun tools to help me take care of my skin better.I have also started making a conscious effort to include more natural products in my daily routine. One of the latest additions to my routine is the Biotique Bio Pineapple Oil Control Foaming Face Cleanser. Biotique has organic, preservative and paraben free products so they were an obvious choice. Lets see if the good for skin product is good at what a cleanser is supposed to do.

Price: Rs 149 for 120 ml

The Biotique Bio Pineapple Oil Control Foaming Face Cleanser comes in a transparent plastic packaging with a green screw on cap. The packaging is pretty much a staple Biotique packaging so nothing special to comment on. The cap opens up to a nozzle that lets you access the product. The packaging is sleek so it doesn’t take to much space. The cap stays in place so there are no chances of any accidents.

Texture & Product

The cleanser has is a yellow colored liquid with a runny texture. The runny texture ensures that you need a pea size to cover the whole face. This product, however, doesn’t lather or foam like the name claims it should. It feels like shampoo without all the foam once  you apply it on a wet face.

The product smells citrusy which was quite a surprise considering this cleanser has no citrus based ingredients. I was hoping for a more pineapple or tropical based fragrance so I was left really disappointed.

My Experience

The cleanser did not give me any magical results. Its a very gentle cleanser and helps in getting rid of all the gunk in my skin however it doesn’t work very effectively on the excessive sebum. It removes light makeup but you would need something else for stubborn products like waterproof mascara or a pigmented liquid lipstick.

I was almost ready to give up on this but then started using it with my Clarisonic facial cleansing brushes and the results were amazing. The brush gives it the extra kick this cleanser needed and helps it to deep clean my skin. It removes the excessive oiliness from my skin without drying it out but I do have to follow it up with a moisturizer.

Final Verdict

I like the cleanser and it is a good option if you have a normal skin and are looking for a mild cleanser. However, you might ave to get a little creative if you want to get results with oily or dry skin type.

Have you used the Biotique Cleansers?
