Cetaphil Moisturizing Lotion: Review

Being a beauty blogger might look like a very glamorous thing to be but like everything in the world, it has its downside and one of the biggest downside of my passion project is that I take my skin and hair through hell. To prevent my skin and hair from crashing down, I have some go-to products that are like my holy-grails. So whenever there is a situation where my guinea pigs aka body parts can’t take up the torture of product testing anymore and crying out for some love. I quickly switch to my comfort products and one such product is the Cetaphil Moisturizing Lotion.

Price: Rs 314 for 100 ml

The Cetaphil Moisturizing Lotion comes in a rectangular shaped white plastic packaging with a flip top cap. There is a tiny opening once you open the flip top cap to dispense the product. The packaging is really sturdy and travel friendly  so you can travel with it without worrying about the product spilling out.

The lotion is white colored product but the consistency is somewhere between runny and the face cream thickness. Once you warm of the product a little before application, the moisturizer becomes even more smooth and goes on without feeling heavy. There is no fragrance which is a plus if you do not like fragrant products.

The product spreads out easily and gets absorbed with a little bit of massaging. With this lotion, less is more especially if you have an oily or oily combination skin. I usually go to this moisturizer when I start developing dry patches or during winters that to as a night cream because it proves to be a little to heavy for my skin particularly during the warmer months. There is a lighter version of this lotion available which is more suitable for the oily skin type but I prefer using the normal version. Also this lotion contains silicone so keep that in mind if your skin has a tendency to react to silicones.

Overall, Cetaphil Moisturizing Lotion is an effective moisturizer with a light texture. It leaves my skin really soft and smooth but it does require a couple of minutes of massaging to blend it into the skin. The product is just a moisturizer and nothing else like anti-ageing or brightening which most other moisturizers promise so use it if that is your requirement is plane simple hydration because that is the one and only USP of this lotion.
