Colorbar Matte Touch Lipstick in FairyTale: Review and Swatches

Don’t you hate it when shop assistants cheat you and tell that abc product that you ask for is discontinued and then they show you the newly launched xyz product claiming that it is very similar to abc…well that’s what the SA at Colorbar did to me the last time I went to check if they had Pretty Please available…she told that the company had discontinued the Velvet matte range πŸ™
Obviously I could not come back empty handed so I decided to check out the shades from the new Matte Touch range. Coincidentally I found a shade very close to pretty please…and its called Fairytale…nice name no… πŸ˜€
Price: Rs. 500

The Colorbar Matte Touch Lipstick comes in a silver packaging. It has a pinkish band in the middle and the Colorbar logo. The packaging is very cute and sturdy and I absolutely faced no problems while carrying it around.

Fairytale is a beautiful brownish pink shade. It appears to be a little more brown when you look at the bullet but on the lips its more inclined towards pink. It is barely there kind of a pink which makes it perfect for day wear but it might wash out some skin tones. I would suggest trying it on your lips before you buy it.

The texture is really creamy and thus it glides on your lips without any tugging. It is supposed to be a matte lipstick but the actual finish is completely opposite so I was left a little confused. It does not bleed and it also does not settle in the fine lines.
The best thing about the lipsticks is the staying power. Even though they have a creamy texture, they last on me for almost 4-5 hours and even when it fades it leaves a really pretty pink tint behind. They do tend to transfer though but I guess that’s the case with most creamy lipsticks.

The only thing that I feel is not that great about this lipstick is that its a little expensive. In general I see that these Colorbar which is supposed to be a pocket friendly brand….is coming out with a lot of expensive products.
The good things about it:
  • Cute and sturdy packaging
  • Perfect shade for day wear
  • Creamy texture so you can apply without effort
  • Doesn’t bleed or settle in fine lines
  • Has a really good staying power of 4-5 hours
  • Leaves a pink tint behind after fading
The not-so good things about it:
  • It transfers…so be careful while giving a peck on the cheek when you are wearing this
  • Its expensive…please Colorbar…we already have MAC and L’Oreal to burn big holes in our pocket…please don’t join there league πŸ™

Final Verdict…It is definitely worth checking out. Just make sure you swatch it on your lips before you buy it. If it suits you I can assure you will find yourself wearing it very often πŸ™‚
Have your tried any shades from the Colorbar Matte Touch range?
