ELF Kabuki Brush: Review

I know that in a world that has moved on to beauty blenders and silicon blender, makeup brushes are kind of becoming a thing of the past but I for one, still love my basic makeup brushes to bits. One of my favorite brushes that I have been using for almost 6 years now is the ELF Kabuki Brush.

Packaging

The packaging of the brush hasn’t changed much since I first bought it. It comes in a transparent plastic packaging . The brush doesn’t have a cover so once you open the packaging, you might want to save it to ensure that the brush doesn’t get damaged when you travel with it.

Brush Structure

The brush is made of Taklon fiber and not animal hair so it gets bonus points from me for being animal friendly. The bristles are white while the ferrule is a black and cylindrical in shape. Even though the ferrule is not that long, it gives enough control to apply the powder properly.

My Experience

The brush has the perfect size that picks up just the right amount of product required. The shape of the brush allows precise and controlled application of bronzer, powder, or a highlighter on your skin. The bristles are silky soft on the skin and I haven’t faced any irritation when I have used the brush.

Cleaning the brush does take a bit of an effort because the brush is really dense. The good thing is that the brush doesn’t loose it shape or any bristles despite rigorous washing. I used the first brush for almost 5 years and it was still in an amazing shape so I think I am good to go for another few years since I just brought a new one.

The only thing I don’t like about the brush is that it takes a while to dry up, almost two days so I usually spot clean it between uses and then do a deep cleanse every few days.

Final Verdict

If you are still into the brushes, i would suggest buying this one. The quality is amazing and once you buy it, you are sorted for a good few years. Absolutely love this product to bits!
