Etude House Look At My Eyes Eyeshadow in Shade BE103: Review & Swatches

I feel my vanity drawers have some kind of a vortex because it seems to devour makeup products that come out of it only when I am looking something completely different. The latest find from the vanity slash vortex was this gorgeous gold eyeshadow from Etude House Look At My Eyes range in the Shade BE103. Needless to say, I couldn’t wait to try and talk about my “new find” so here I am.

Price: $4.60 for 2 gms

The eyeshadows from Etude House Look At My Eyes range come in a small plastic pan packaging with a transparent top.  The number of the shade is mentioned at the bottom but the transparent cap ensures that you do not have to put in much effort to try and locate the one you want in case you own more than one eyeshadow.

The packaging is nothing fancy but it is pretty sturdy so it is pretty easy to travel around with it. It is a small pan so doesn’t occupy too much space in my travel kit as well. Overall, no complaints with the packaging!

Product & Texture

The product has a smooth finish and texture. I hate when glitter shadows feel grainy and have a zillion fallouts but that is not the case with this eyeshadow. The eyeshadow glides on the lids and doesn’t pose an issue if you try to blend it in. The texture allows me to be a little playful with this product as I can wear it on its own or include it in a bold look. The color is a warm gold with orange undertones that complement every Indian skin tone

My Experience

To be honest, I had fallen in love with the eyeshadow the moment I swatched it in the store but I did have to learn to use the product once I actually decided to wear it.  The reason I struggled was that the shade was really opaque and even with the lightest hand, I  pretty much got a really heavy layer of color on my lids. Since then, I have learnt a lot about using this eyeshadow effectively and it is one of the few colors I find myself grabbing frequently

The shade blends like a dream and stays on for hours even without a primer. As I mentioned earlier, there are minimum fall outs with this eyeshadow so I don’t have to be worried about looking like a glitter ball after a few hours. I also love how versatile the shade is so it works well with most Indian skin tones and looks great with ethnic and western outfits alike.

Final Verdict

I love the eyeshadow and I feel like kicking myself for losing it in the sea of makeup since I bought it in Singapore.Nevertheless, the quality is great, the color payoff along with the staying power is amazing so the only issue I have is the availability. I can’t wait to get my hands on more shades from this range when I visit a country with an Etude House the next time.
