The Face Shop Chia Seed No Shine Intense Hydrating Cream: Review

Korean beauty products and brands have taken the Indian market by a storm lately. One brand that I keep hearing about these days is The Face Shop. I have already reviewed their face masks and today I am going to review another skin care product – The Face Shop Chia Seed No Shine Intense Hydrating Cream

Price: Rs 1900 for 50 ml

The Face Shop Chia Seed No Shine Intense Hydrating Cream comes in a pastel green glass tub packaging with a screw on cap. The packaging has a separator inside which prevents the product from leaking and sticking to the upper cap. It also has a spatula which made my inner hygiene freak that hates dipping her fingers into tub packaging very happy. The tub is pretty sturdy so you do not have to be scared about shattering it into million pieces if you drop it like I usually drop my makeup and skincare products. The tub is easy to use and I have faced no issues travel with it so overall no complains about the packaging.

Product & Texture

The product is a pearly white cream with a light texture and a faint sweet fragrance. If you are a fellow oily or oil-combination skin sister than you would probably agree that nothing drives us crazy more than a product that claims to be shine free but feels like whipped cream on the skin so I was pretty sceptical about the effectiveness of the product when I saw it. Thankfully I was proved wrong and the cream feels like a dream on my skin. The product spreads pretty easily so a little quantity is enough to cover my whole face and neck.

My Experience

I have been using the cream for a few weeks now and I honestly have no issues with it. As I said before, I was a little sceptical looking at consistency of the product but all my doubts vanished the moment I applied it. The cream spreads very easily and I just have to pat it a bit to help it get absorbed. Once the cream gets absorbed, all it leaves behind is a lowing and hydrated skin. No shiny film or greasy feeling!

The cream gives me a decent oil control which lasts for around 2-3 hours. I have an acne prone skin so it is quite a relief that the product doesn’t clog my pores and cause me to break out.

Final Verdict

Overall, I do like the product and it delivers what it claims but I do not think it justifies the 1900 bucks price tag. It is a good day cream and works well for my skin but I have got similar results from products that are much lighter on my wallet. It is a good option if you have an oily or normal skin but it is not something you definitely have to try. Would have received a better recommendation if it was not this expensive!
