Forest Essentials Cane Sugar Lip Scrub: Review

There is something so satisfying about exfoliation. I know people usually say this about a massage but I love the exfoliation part of all my skincare routines since it leaves behind a clear soft glowing skin. Surprisingly, I never knew  anything about lip scrubs until I stumbled upon one accidentally and needless to say I was hooked. Since then I have tried a few lip scrubs and the latest one I tried was the Forest Essentials Cane Sugar Lip Scrub

Price: Rs 475 for 5 gms

Packaging

Forest Essentials Cane Sugar Lip Scrub comes in a beautiful pot packaging with a golden screw on lid. I love the cardboard packaging the pot comes in because it just feels like I am opening a nice little present or myself.  The packaging in general is quite sturdy and because the tub is tiny, it doesn’t occupy to much space and can be traveled with easily.

Product & Texture

The Forest Essentials Cane Sugar Lip Scrub is a yellow natural lip scrub with a sweet fragrance. It contains grapes extract, jojoba seed oil, cane sugar, olive fruit oil, kokum seed butter, sunflower seed oil etc as ingredients which prevents any kind of dryness or irritation once you use the scrub.

The texture is grainy and a little sticky but not the uncomfortable kind of sticky. The exfoliants are tiny little beads that are almost invisible but you can feel them once the product is applied on the lips.

My Experience

I love my matte lipsticks so I always need my lips to be all prepped and primed. The texture is easy to work with and I just need a small amount to exfoliate my lips. I usually use my fingers to scrub my lips but you can use an old toothbrush as well. The exfoliants are beady but not to harsh so they gently remove any dead skin from your lips leaving them all soft and shiny.  I would recommend being a little gentle while scrubbing the areas around the corners as they are really sensitive and prone to dry and cause angular cheilitis (the pesky cuts and the corners of the lips). The scrub is not excessively drying but you do need follow up with a nice lip balm to seal the moisture ad prevent any further dryness.

Final Verdict

Its a good product that provides the desired results after each use. Most lip scrubs I have come across are pretty harsh on the areas around the lips but I did not face this issue with this scrub. The price is definitely on the higher side but the quality of the product, that I don’t need to much of the scrub during each use and most importantly the fact that it is made of all natural products pretty much justifies spending a few extra bucks on it.
