Garnier Fructis Smoothing Treat 1 Minute Hair Mask with Avocado Extract: Review

I recently discovered my love for hair colors and have been experimenting a lot with my hair this year. While I love my new hair, coloring does take a toll on the tresses. Now my regular readers would know that I am a self-proclaimed lazy girl so any kind of extra effort apart from my regular beauty regime makes me cry.

Imagine my joy when during my last trip to the drugstore when I found a hair mask claiming that it could give my hair the much required TLC within a minute. I obviously added It to my cart and have been using it religiously for the past two weeks and I am all ready to talk about the Garnier Fructis Smoothing Treat 1 Minute Hair Mask with Avocado Extract

Price: 400 ml for $4.49

The Garnier Fructis Smoothing Treat 1 Minute Hair Mask comes in a plastic tub packaging with a screw on cap. The tub is bulkier than my usual hair products so I definitely do not recommend travelling with it. I also am not a big fan of dipping my fingers to apply a product most hair masks don’t come with a spatula or an applicator so I usually scoop out the product in a cup and use my own applicator brush.

Texture & Product

The mask is a pearly white product with a really smooth and creamy texture. The mask is very light and spreads easily. Since the texture is so smooth, I do not need more than a couple of tsp of the product to cover my shoulder length hair.

In terms of the fragrance, the brand got the avocado smell down to the tee but the fragrance is very mild so you don’t have to worry about getting a headache due to the smell.

My Experience

Now according to the company, there are three different ways to use the mask:

As a mask: apply it for one minute after shampoo and then rinse.

As a conditioner: apply directly after shampoo from roots to tips and then rinse.

As a leave-in: apply on damp hair.

I have tried the product in all the different ways suggested and more but I like it best as a mask. As a mask, you could either apply it after cleaning your hair with the shampoo or before it if your hair feels particularly dry.

The mask leaves my hair really soft and manageable. Regular usage has helped with the frizziness and my hair looks more healthy and shiny. The product moisturises my hair without weighing them down however I wouldn’t suggest applying it to your scalp if you have an oily one.

The mask works for colored hair and chemically treated hair which is obviously an added bonus and I don’t have to be worried about fading my beautiful hair color.

Final Verdict

Overall, I am really happy with the result I got from the mask. Its a fuss free way to keep your hair in shape. It doesn’t contain any silicon which is such a welcome change and it gives me the results I want without spending hours taking care of the tresses.

I am not sure this is available in India yet but it is easily available at Walmart, Target and CVS. Considering the multiple ways in which this can be used, I would say to get your hands on it if you can.
