Garnier Pure Active Neem Face Wash:Review

I am not to fond of the color green but if you look at my vanity you wouldn’t believe it. Almost 70-80 % of my skin care products are green…thanks to my oily skin. Green is somehow the best friend for my skin…whether its tea tree, green tea or neem. So last month while shopping for my monthly skin care products…I picked up yet another green product- Garnier Pure Active Neem Face Wash and after using it for the past few weeks today I am talk about it.

Price: Rs 75 for 100 ml

What the company has to say about it:

Every day your skin feels impure as it braves pollution, bacteria and excess oil. The result could be pimples and impurities.Purify your skin with Garnier Pure Active Neem Leaf Extract and Tea Tree Oil. Skin feels clean, fresh and looks clearer.
The face wash comes in a simple white tube with screw-on cap. The tube is very flexible and convenient to use and the cap pretty sturdy so the overall packaging is very user and travel friendly.

The face wash is a light green clear gel and has a runny consistency. Its a little too runny in my opinion because I saw that it leaked into the cap at some instances. It also has this very strong herbal fragrance which lingers for a while.

I personally love foamy face washes so it was kind of a disappointment that this did not create too much foam but when it comes cleansing my skin, it works pretty well. The one thing that I really liked about this face wash was that unlike most oil and acne control face washes, this does not leave my skin feeling dry or stretchy. It also leaves a nice cooling sensation behind for a few minutes after usage.
Coming to the claim of keeping the skin oil free and pimple free…well the oil control part works for at most 20-25 minutes after which my skin starts becoming oily again.  I did not break out after using it so its safe to say that it prevents acne and pimples.
All in all, apart from the lack of foam I don’t really have anything that I don’t like about it. It works quite well for my oily skin however I don’t think it would suit ladies with dry skin. Its a really affordable option if you are on the lookout for a mild face wash for oil control however don’t expect too much in terms of controlling and preventing acne and pimples.
