Garnier Ultra Blends Royal Jelly & Lavender Anti Hairfall Shampoo & Conditioner : Review

Nothing beats a good hair day and I am usually ready to try anything to get such days more frequently. I have lately started using the shampoo and conditioner from the same brands as my hairstylist suggested that such a combination gives better results. So during my last visit to the drugstore, I decided to pick up was the Garnier Ultra Blends Royal Jelly & Lavender Anti Hairfall Shampoo and Conditioner. I have been using these for almost two months now and I am finally ready to share my views here.

Price: Rs 190 for the set of shampoo + conditioner

The Garnier Ultra Blends Royal Jelly & Lavender Anti Hairfall Shampoo and Conditioner comes in a pale cream-colored plastic packaging. Both the products have a flip top cap which is pretty sturdy so even if you decide to travel with them, then that shouldn’t be a challenge.

The shampoo is a white colored formula with a gel like consistency that spreads quite easily on wet hair. The shampoo lathers well and gives a nice floral fragrance during application. I have a sensitive oily scalp so I usually need a shampoo that can help to get rid of the excessive sebum on my scalp and this shampoo did help me to achieve that. I obviously concentrate on my scalp a bit more but if you do not have an oily scalp than just one squeeze of the product is more than enough for shoulder length hair.

My hair did not feel dry, neither did I get any sort of scalp irritation after using this shampoo. It gave me a nice clean scalp post usage and did not aggravate my dandruff. I have a fair amount of hair fall thanks to all the experiments I do with my hair but I did not really notice a very drastic change in the amount after I started using this shampoo. So overall, I was pretty happy with the shampoo and did not mind to continue using it instead of my regular anti-dandruff shampoo but I did not see any action against hair fall even after using it for a good 2 months.

The conditioner, on the other hand, has a thick creamy consistency along with the strong floral fragrance. The conditioner spreads easily on wet hair and coats the hair strands well.  I have really dry hair ends and oily scalp so I usually just apply the conditioner at the ends so one squeeze of the product is enough for me. I let the conditioner stay on my hair for a good 5 minutes post which I rinse it off.

I have to say, I did not like the conditioner as much as I liked the shampoo. It does leave my hair soft and shiny but as I said earlier, my hair ends are quite dry so I need that extra boost of moisture for them which this conditioner did not provide. Having said that, I absolutely love how manageable my hair was and that the conditioner did not weigh down my hair.

Overall, I am not so sure if the suggestion about using the shampoo and the conditioner from the same range really worked for me but I definitely did like the shampoo. I do plan to use the conditioner as well but maybe for deep conditioning ( applying conditioner and letting it stay for 10 minutes before I wash my hair and then applying conditioner again post hair wash). A good pocket-friendly option when it comes to normal hair type.
