Himalaya Herbals Oil Clear Lemon Face Wash: Review

Yup I am back with another review of a face wash from Himalaya Herbals. While the neem variant is my usual go to face wash and list quite on top of my holy grail skincare product but I recently used the lemon variant when I was staying over a friend’s place and boy, I was hooked.

Price: Rs 117 for 100 ml

Packaging

Himalaya Oil Clear Lemon Face Wash comes in a transparent tube with a dark green colored flip open cap. The packaging is pretty handy and travel friendly.

Overall, no complaints when it comes to how it looks.

Texture & Product

The face wash has gel like consistency, milky white in color and these green blue granules floating around.  The product smells floral which was kind of surprise for me since I was expecting more of a citrusy fragrance. The fragrance is a bit strong but vanishes as soon as the face wash starts to lather.

My Experience

When it comes to face washes, I check on three criteria: lather, cleansing properties and status of my face post usage.

The face wash lathers pretty nicely and a pea sized amount is enough to use for the entire face and neck. The little granules do not exfoliate the skin in any way which is kind of a disappointment. The product however, does deep cleanse my face and gets rid of all the extra oil and grime.

In terms of the post usage scenario, my face does feel a little stretchy and dry once I have used it. Don’t get me wrong, it cleanses my face really well and my skin remains oil free for quite a few hours but the normal part of my oily combination skin feels a little too dry then I would have liked.

Final Verdict

Overall, the Himalaya Herbals Oil Clear Lemon Face Wash is a pocket friendly and soap free, herbal cleanser that does what it claims. It does helps me to remove excess oil and dirt but I wouldn’t suggest this for winters particularly if you have an oily combination skin.
