Innisfree Orchid Eye Cream: Review

As I have a very confused a.k.a combination skin type, when it comes to my skin care essentials I trust only a couple of brands. One brand that hasn’t disappointed me since I was introduced to it is the Korean brand Innisfree which opened its first store in India around 2 years back. I was invited to try their new Orchid Enriched range a few weeks back and since the event I have been testing the products. This week I am going to review the range starting with the Innisfree Orchid Eye Cream

Price: Rs. 2000

The Innisfree Orchid Eye Cream comes in a purple plastic tub packaging with a screw on lid. The tub is quite sturdy and travels well without taking up to much space.I have my usual concerns about hygiene because it doesn’t come with a spatula.

The texture of the eye cream is smooth, feels like a creamy gel and is not very sticky. I have to say I am in love with the texture and how light and non greasy it feels on my skin. The cream is so smooth that I barely need any product to cover the area under both my eyes plus it gets absorbed instantly and moisturizes them just enough to get rid of the slight dryness I have there. I usually struggle with finding eye creams that are light yet give me that smooth and moisturised under eyes I am looking for and as far as I think nobody enjoys applying something  heavy or sticky near the eye area  so this product definitely got some brownie points in the texture area.

Another thing that I really like about the product and the range in general is that the products have a nice floral fragrance but nothing drastic. I have lost count of the number of flower based skin care products I have that go so overboard in the fragrance department that the only reason I can’t bear to use them is the smell. The fragrance of the Orchid Enriched Range is pleasant, mild and vanishes after a few seconds of application.

I have been using this product for a little over a month now and I have got rid of the dry patches that had developed under my eyes. It keeps dryness at bay without making the skin too oily so even my concealer lasts longer and doesn’t turn patchy.

All in all, it is a really great product especially if you have dryness under your eyes. The product is mild, light and very effective. The non greasy and non sticky texture are two major highlights of the product and it has become an indispensable part of my skin care. I know they are a little heavy on the pocket but the quality and the results totally justify the price.
