Kama Ayurveda Brightening Ayurvedic Face Scrub: Review

When I started my blog almost 5 years back, a lot of my money went into trying a buying new makeup launches and a few skincare products. As I grew and the blog grew, I realized if I wanted to make sure that I keep experimenting with the zillion makeup products I pick up every month, I need to start investing in good skincare products as well so now my vanity has more of skin care products than makeup on a usual basis. One brand for skincare that has been showing up on my shelf very often is Kama Ayurveda and the latest addition is the Kama Ayurveda Brightening Ayurvedic Face Scrub.

Price: Rs 995 for 50 gms

The Kama Ayurveda Kumkumadi Scrub comes in a heavy glass jar packaging with a wooden spatula for scooping the product out. While I love the fact that Kama Ayurveda includes a spatula because dipping my fingers into a tub packaging to access the product is like one of my biggest pet-peeve but I am not a big fan of the heavy glass jar packaging as the scrub is quite expensive and a slip of hand could cause you to waste the whole thing.

The product is pale yellow colored scrub with thick and creamy consistency. The exfoliants are pretty soft on the skin. The scrub has this pale nutty fragrance that lingers for a few minutes after application.

As the scrub has a creamy consistency so it spreads well and you not need much of it to apply on the whole face.  The exfoliating granules are really gentle so I don’t have to be scared about over scrubbing my skin making it a great option for sensitive skin. I was a bit scared that this scrub might prove to be really heavy for my skin because it contains the Kumkumadi oil but thankfully it does not leave behind any oily residual.

The scrub does brighten up skin slightly but that is just because the exfoliation removes dead skin but I did not notice any lasting effect. I would have to say it was a little disappointing to see that there were no lasting effects even though the product has some pretty expensive ingredients that supposed to be miraculous for skin care but I did not see any major effect on my skin even after using the .

It softens and nourishes the skin without leaving any greasiness. It contains some rare and precious ingredients and it does feel lovely to use but it doesn’t leave any lasting effects on the skin which is a little disappointing considering the price tag and ingredients.

Overall, I would have to say I like the product but I am not very excited about it. The product does what a scrub is supposed to but when you are buying a Kama Ayurveda product, you don’t expect it give you ordinary results so I am kind of disappointed.
