Kama Ayurveda Nalpamaradi Thailam Skin Brightening Treatment: Review

As a bride to be I am supposed to have this certain thing called bridal glow. Now considering the schedule I have, I can’t count in that glow to be from the inside so I have to look around for stuff that will help me fake it. Kama Ayurveda is one brand that is like the first name I hear whenever I ask anyone for bridal skin care so I went for a little Kama Ayurveda haul and the first product I picked up was the Kama Ayurveda Nalpamaradi Thailam Skin Brightening Treatment. I have been trying for a couple of month and I think I am finally ready to review it 🙂
Price: Rs 475 for 100 ml.
The Kama Ayurveda Nalpamaradi Thailam comes in this simple transparent plastic bottle with a screw on metallic cap. It has a dropper kind of opening which has this stopper that is supposed to avoid spillage but don’t trust it. The stopper is this tiny plastic thing that doesn’t really prevent anything so if you are planning to carry it around then transfer into a travel friendly bottle.
The oil is this dark yellow colored liquid with a very runny texture. The good thing about the texture is that its light enough to be used even in summers and I really like how easily and quickly it gets absorbed in the skin. There are however two major issues with this oil- the fragrance and the fact that it stains your clothes. Being an ayurvedic product, I was expected a slightly strong fragrance from this oil but I have to say it is a little to strong for me as well and I am not usually someone who gets scared of strong smells. I learnt the staining thing the hard way and ended up spoiling one of my favourite t-shirts so be careful when you apply this.
Now if you go by the instruction, you are not really supposed to use a soap after applying this body oil and replace the soap with an ubtan but that is something which bis feasible for me to follow every single day. Also, you are not supposed go out in the sun after applying it because it contains turmeric so I usually apply it at night before taking my evening shower.  I do use the ubtan advice but just once a week and use my usual shower gel for the rest of the days.
As my facial skin is oily and quite acne prone, I was little hesitant to apply this oil on my face but once I saw the texture I started applying it on my face as well though I am really careful about the amount of product I use.
I have using the Kama Ayurveda Nalpamaradi Oil for almost two months now and I have to say I am pretty happy with the results. I tan very easily so I wouldn’t say I haven’t tanned at all since I starting using this oil but I have noticed that it doesn’t let the tan build up on my skin. I am hoping that once we are through with the summers this going to help me get rid of the remaining tan as well.
Overall, I am happy with this oil treatment. I will admit that this product comes with a little bit of work but the results are definitely worth it and I planning to continue using it till the bottle finishes after which I do plan to try the popular and the super expensive Kumkumadi Oil. But I would say that if you are looking for a de-tanning and moisturising skin care solution, do try this oil. I do wish the fragrance was a little less strong but then again the things we do to look pretty :p.
