Lakme 9 to 5 Insta Light Instant Glow Creme: Review

I am pretty excited about today’s review because I haven’t picked up anything from Lakme for a while even though it is like one of my favourite drugstore brand but as I mentioned in one of my previous post, I have put buying makeup on hold so I decided to try their new launch – The Lakme 9 to 5 Insta Light Glow Creme.

Price: Rs 79 for 20 gms.
Lakme 9 to 5 Insta Light Instant Glow Creme comes in simple and sleek grey tube packaging with screw on cap. The tube is pretty sturdy and it is the soft squeezy kind of plastic which proves to be very helpful particularly when you are trying to squeeze out the last bit of product from the tube.

The texture of the creme is creamy but very light so it gets absorbed in the skin pretty quickly. Even though the product has a creamy texture, it doesn’t really hydrate the skin so you need apply a moisturizer under it which means it will not be suitable for somebody who has a dry skin. The packaging mentions that the product has sunscreen but I don’t see any mention of the amount of SPF in it.

Now lets talk about the claims about this product. The company  claims that it has gives you glowing skin with a matte and illuminating effect . All the claims are true, it is just that they vanish after an hour. The cream makes my face look a little brighter but there is this whitish cast which will pose a big problem if you are on the duskier side. It does make my face look clean and fresh however I wouldn’t call it an illuminating effect . The matte claim is true for an hour as well but after an hour my skin turns into a grease ball. Basically, everything seemed good about the product when I applied it but the good impression did not last for too long as eventually my skin looked dull and oily .
All in all, I wouldn’t recommend this one to you guys. I loved it when I applied it but my skin turned into an absolute nightmare after a little while. You could give it a short if you have normal skin but for oily, combination and dry skin, this product is a big no.
