Lakme Enrich Satin in P168: Review, Swatches and FOTD

I still remember the first lipstick I had bought for myself, it was this fat maroon tube from Lakme that had a golden band in the middle. I was soo attached to that lipstick that I remember scraping out the last bit of it when it finished. Years later I bought a lipstick from the same range just a more better looking version and this time it was one of the new shades, one of which was P168.

Price: Rs 260 for 4.4 ml

The new packaging for Lakme Enrich Satin has silver body with a transparent plastic lid and bottom. I am pretty glad they got rid of the maroon and gold packaging so you can easily make out the colors without having to spend time looking at the label.

The shade P168 is a beautiful purple with maroon undertones. The shade is perfect for the winters and the purple is just on point for the Indian skin tone. I think all the scary versions of purples I had seen over the years had put me of this shade for a while but I think I finally found my kind of purple and I guess brands in India have also realised the same so the shade is more flattering to most Indian skin tones.

The texture of this lipstick is great, it’s super smooth and there is no tugging or pulling on application. It’s quite moisturizing so you can skip wearing a lip balm underneath it.  The texture is pretty light so there is no heavy feeling even if you layer it.

The lipstick does pretty well in the pigmentation department and one swipe is enough to get a nice rich layer of color on the lips. It gives a creamy finish so the lipstick transfers but doesn’t bleed or feather or settle in fine lines. The staying power of this shade is great and the lipstick stays on for around 4-5 hours post which it fades leaving a deep pink stain behind. The stain is pretty adamant and if you want to get rid of it the the only way is to use a makeup remover.

Overall, I absolutely love this shade and I can’t wait to try more shades from this range. The quality is amazing, I love the shade and for the price it retails at,well its pretty amazing. Do try it if you are looking to add some budget buys to your vanity.
