Lakme Enrich Satin Lipstick 135: Review, Swatches and FOTD

One of the first lipsticks I tried was from Lakme. I think I was 8 years old and had to dress up like a villager for a school play. I remember running to the mirror after every 5 minutes to see how I look and feeling like a big girl because I was wearing lipstick like my mom. Now that i am a big girl in its true sense, Lakme is still one brand I love…and even though they have come up with a lot of new products and various ranges, one particular range I love is the Lakme Enrich Satin Lipsticks and today I am going to review the shade 135 from it 🙂
Price: Rs 225 for 4.4. ml.
The packaging is pretty ordinary. A plum outer cover with golden casing. The cap closes with a click and stays in place. I have carried it around for a while now and haven’t faced any issues with it. The only problem is that the packaging doesn’t anything that can help you identify the shade and the fact that the shades have been named using number doesn’t help.

The shade I got is called #135…its this beautiful warm toned bright pink. As the name suggest, it has this satin like finish. I do see some shimmer particles in the bullet but somehow you can’t  really locate any shimmer particle once you apply it.  The reason this range is so popular in India because most shades looks very flattering to the Indian skin tone and this hold for #135 as well. its actually the perfect shade if you want to try bright pinks but are scared to go for the neon ones.

These lipsticks are really pigmented. I get a rich layer of color in a single swipe. I love how creamy these lipsticks are and doesn’t feel heavy on the lips. I did not notice any bleeding or feathering as well.
The staying power of the lip is average. It stays on me for almost 3-4 hours without meals. However when it fades, it tends to settle in the fine lines and on the outer edges on the lips which at times is quite annoying but nothing that a little touch up can’t

Lets look at the Yays  and Nays
  • Sturdy packaging
  • Affordable
  • Shade would suit most Indian skin tones
  • Pigmented
  • Creamy texture
  • Doesn’t feel heavy on the lips
  • Doesn’t bleed
  • No feathering
  • Average staying power
  • Settles in fine lines when it starts to fade
Here’s how it looks on me
Overall, I love this lipstick. I know the staying power is pretty average and the settling of the lipstick in the fine lines once it starts fading is quite a turn off but all in all its a great budget buy. There are some beautiful shades available in this range and I definitely recommend trying #135 in case you are a pink girl like me.
Have you tried the Lakme Enrich Satin Lipsticks?
