Lakme Eye Color Quartet: Tanjore Rush- Review & Swatches

Hello pretty ladies πŸ™‚

While I was getting ready for my friend’s reception, I realized how I had missed reviewing an amazing product that has been siting in my vanity for a while now and I find myself looking for it every time I have a party or night out to attend. The product that i am going to talk about today is Lakme Eye Color Quartet in Tanjore Rush. I absolutely love this quad as it has alot of pretty shades that look perfect when you decide to doll up for an occasion. I do dislike a few things about it too but we will come to those later.

Price: Rs. 440 for 7 gm.

Lets first see what the company has about the product:
Versatile quartets of vivid, high intensity powders put together to color, shape and highlight your eyes like never before.

The quad comes in a copper brown packaging with a plastic lid and a sponge applicator. The packaging is quite stable so it doesn’t really cause any problem if you decide to carry it around. The applicator, like most brushes and applicator that come with these products is pretty useless.

Coming to the eye shadows, well the quad has four pretty shades- purple, forest green, bright gold and copper. The eye shadows are shimmer based but they are quite pigmented. They have a smooth texture and decent staying power of 3-4 hours if you use a primer but without the primer they do tend to crease. There are a lot of fall outs but that usually happens when you are working with shimmer based eye shadows.

Now taking what I don’t really like about this quad is the fact that though individually the shades are amazing but when you buy a quad or a palette you actually expect to use the shades together which unfortunately cannot be done with this quad. The shades are too diverse to be used together.

Ok, so the Yay-Nay list

Yays!

  • Intensely pigmented eye shadows
  • Texture is smooth
  • Has decent staying power with primer
  • Pocket friendly
Nays
  • They tend to crease without primer
  • The quad has colors that are too diverse to be used together
So the final verdict is that if you are looking for pocket friendly options in eye shadows then you should definitely invest in this quad. Though as a quad these shades don’t really work together but as individual eye shadows they work great πŸ™‚
