Lakme Youth Infinity Skin Firming Day Creme SPF 15 PA++: Review

A few months back I had attended a masterclass organised by Lakme in association with Femina. It was during this even that I was introduced to the Lakme Youth Infinity range. The brand was shared some samples with us as a part of the press kit and one of the products was the Lakme Youth Infinity Skin Firming Day Creme. I did not get around to try it till like a month back and I am finally armed all the experience I need to share my review with you 🙂

Price: Rs 299 for 20 gms.

The Lakme Youth Infinity Skin Firming Day Creme comes in sleek metallic purple packaging with a silver screw on cap and nozzle shaped opening. The Packaging is pretty sturdy and the cap stays in place so no complains in the packaging department.

The product is a pearly white cream with a slightly thick consistency. The cream also have this very minute shimmer particles which give the skin a very natural and subtle glow however because of the texture, the cream does takes a little time to get absorbed in the skin. It also has a pleasant floral fragrance which lingers for a few minutes.
When I first tried the cream, I was pretty happy with it for like 20 minutes or so and then everything went downhill . My skin became very oily and I could see sweat beads on  my nose and forehead and the cheeks became shiny. This came as a total shock to me because it felt pretty light when I applied it but unfortunately I had to eventually wash my face as there  was no way I could wear any kind of makeup on it as it would just slip of. Now this was my experience when the temperature was lingering around 18-20 degrees so obviously things would get worse for my skin if I use it during the hot Delhi summers.

I shared the product with two of my friends- one who has a normal skin and the other one has dry skin. The normal skinned friend had the same reaction as me however the product worked better for my dry skinned friend and she loved the dewy glow  it gave to her skin. The cream kept her skin moisturised for almost 3-4 hours.

Lets take a quick look at the Yays and Nays

Yays:

  • Sleek and attractive packaging
  • Pleasant floral fragrance
  • Gives a natural dewy glow
  • Has SPF 15
  • Works well for dry skin
  • Easily available
Nays:
  • The cream takes a few minutes to get absorbed
  • Not meant for oily, normal or combination skin
  • Expensive
Overall, its an average product. If you have an oily or oily combination skin, you should definitely stay away from it. Dry skinned beauties can give it a shot but personally I feel that there are much better options available in the same price range.
