L’Oreal Paris 6 Oil Nourish Extraordinary Hair Oil in Cream: Review

I have been personally struggling to take care of my skin and hair while juggling with my new job so now I am always looking for products that will give my hair/skin the TLC needs but in the short amount of time I have during the day. One product that I bought with this intention was the L’Oreal Paris 6 Oil Nourish Extraordinary Hair Oil. I have used the product for almost two months now and in a lot of different ways so I am finally ready to share my experience with all of you.

Price: Rs 80 for 100 ml, Rs 135 for 200 ml

L’Oreal Paris 6 Oil Nourish Oil-in-Cream comes in a pretty golden tube with a black flip-top cap. I like how flexible the packaging is and I don’t have to struggle with the tube to get the product out. I love the hygiene factor that comes with creamy products in a tube and the flip top cap stays in place so it is pretty convenient to travel with.

The actual product is a white cream with a really smooth texture. I love the consistency because it is just perfect to work with and creates zero fuss. The texture ensures that the product spreads easily so for my shoulder length hair, I just need to good squirts from the tube. Once you open the cap, a lovely floral fragrance greets you and the best part is that the fragrance lingers after you have used the product so your hair smells good the whole day.

The product description mentions that there are 3 ways to use the product. You can use it as a night treatment, 30 minutes before hair wash or as a leave-in cream after washing your hair. When I was testing the product, I tried all the methods but my favorites are definitely to use the cream before hair wash and as a leave-in conditioner. I have tried the over-night process and it give me amazing results but I usually don’t have the time to do an over night treatment on most occasions so I really appreciate when I get the same effect with the 30 minute process or a leave-on conditioner.

The only catch is that even though the cream looks light, it is a heavy conditioner so if you are planning to use  it as a leave on conditioner then less is more. I have an oily scalp so I definitely avoid using it on my scalp until I am doing the overnight regime. having said that, it doesn’t weigh down my hair and has non-sticky formula so you don’t have to worry about messing up your clothes.

I have very thin hair that are super frizzy and dry at the ends so pre-wash pampering session is essential for me otherwise my hair end up looking like a bunch of hay. I do feel that my hair are much more manageable, less frizzy and the end are conditioned properly after I have used this product so it definitely gets some extra points. The only downside is that if you look at the scary list of ingredients at the back, you will realise that the product can’t really replace the god old oiling technique but it is a really good option on days when you are too busy to get a good hair oil massage in.

In the end, all I would say is that it is a great product, inexpensive yet effective, does everything it claims and leaves your hair smooth and shiny but L’Oreal Paris 6 Oil Nourish Oil-in-Cream is more like an alternative to oiling for rush days rather than a replacement.
