L’Oreal Paris Dermo Expertise Lip And Eye Makeup Remover: Review

One thing that bugs me more than makeup that doesn’t stay is makeup that refuses to budge at the end of a long day. It takes every ounce of energy I have in me to get out of bed to remove my makeup so I hate it when that waterproof eyeliner is still on after like four attempts. I basically end up spending as much on a good makeup remover as I spend on getting good makeup so when I come across a good and affordable makeup remover, I make sure I grab it and that is what I did when I came across an affordable and effective make up remover, I just know I have to try it and that is how I came across the L’Oreal Paris Gentle Lip & Eye Makeup Remover

Price: Rs 380 for 125 ml

Packaging

The L’Oreal Paris Gentle Lip & Eye Makeup Remover comes in a transparent plastic bottle packaging with a screw on white cap. I love transparent packaging because you know exactly when you need to revisit the store for a refill.

The cap is pretty tight so you don’t have to worry about the product spilling in your bag when you are travelling with it. The packaging is also pretty sleek so it doesn’t take a lot of space in your travel bag.

Texture & Product

The makeup remover has two layers, a blue layer on the top and a clear one and the bottom. The blue layer has a more oil based texture so it has tendency to separate from the clear base and you are basically required to shake the bottle really well before you use the product. The consistency is like water so a couple of squeezes from the bottle are enough to get rid of all the makeup and grime.

I am not a big fan of the fragrance because it smells like rubbing alcohol but thankfully the smell of the remover vanishes within seconds of applying the product to my face.

My Experience

I used this makeup remover for the first time at my sister in law’s place during a night stay. Even though I was too buzzed to think about anything during the night, in the morning, I couldn’t help but notice that every speck of my waterproof mascara and kajal on my waterline was gone. I obviously went back to check what I had used the previous night and bought one for me on my way back home.

The only word I can use to describe this product is fabulous. I just a need a few drops of the remover to get rid of even the most stubborn eye makeup or matte lipsticks I am wearing. For heavy makeup days, a couple of swipes do the trick which is much less than any other makeup remover I have used.

When it comes to testing the effectiveness of a makeup remover, my judgement criteria is the amount of makeup residue on the cotton pad when I apply my toner. Needless to say, this makeup remover cleared the makeup on the toner cotton pad test with flying colors.

The product leaves behind a light oily film behind but nothing messy so you can either remove it using a makeup removal wipe or just wash it off using your regular face wash.

                                                          Stubborn Waterproof Makeup

                                                           One Swipe Of Makeup Remover

                                                         Second Swipe Of Makeup Remover

Final Verdict

I am usually not the biggest fan of oil based makeup removers but this product forced me to make an exception. I love how easy it is to get rid of my waterproof makeup with this and it is one of the most effective makeup removers I have used.
