L’Oreal Paris Rouge Caresse Lipstick in Cheeky Magenta: Review and Swatches

I am pretty sure I am not the only one who hates Diwali cleaning…and the worst thing is I have to start with my room and cupboard which by the way is a huge mess. The only motivation I have every year to participate in the annual cleaning ritual is that I end finding a lot of stuff I bought and never used. I have series post lined up with such stuff now and well the first on the list is a lip product (kind of obvious :p) from L’Oreal- the L’Oreal Paris Rouge Caresse Lipstick.

Price: Rs 499 for 2.5 gms

What the company has to say about the product:
The Rouge Caresse lipstick has a flutter of kissable, soft, colour. Its delicate texture glides onto lips creating a veil of colour with a luminous shine. It adds a desired pop of colour with a meltingly soft application. The lipstick contains light oils, crystalline wax, transparent blenders and pearl pigments that deliver true colour with a weight-less comfort.”
The L’Oreal Paris Rouge Caresse Lipstick comes in a transparent tube bullet packaging. I like the fact that because of the transparent packaging, I can see the shade and locate it easily however somehow it looks a little cheap to me considering the usual standards of packaging L’Oreal has for its products.

The shade I bought is called Cheeky Magenta though the shade is more like a pink then magenta but being the pink crazy girl that I am, I really don’t mind.

The texture of this lipstick is really creamy and resembles more to the texture of petroleum jellies like vaseline. Its quite soft and smooth and as I just described the texture, you can imagine how easily it glides on the lips during application.
In terms of pigmentation, these lipsticks are a little sheer however thanks to light weight you can just layer the color to build up the shade. It gives a more lip gloss kind of shine and keeps the lips quite hydrated

Now even though the coverage is pretty sheer, the lipstick does have a tendency to stain your lips so even if the shine vanishes after an hour or so, the stain remains for almost 3 hours which is decent in my books.

Final verdict is kind of a 50-50 situation. I for one like these lipstick…like and not love because I am more of a pigmented lipstick loving girl so the sheer finish doesn’t work for me other than on the rare occasions where I think I don’t have the energy to dress up but if you are someone who loves the natural, sheer, subtle no makeup kind of look..then I would definitely suggest you to take a look at this range as they have some beautiful shades.
