L’Oreal Paris Shine Caresse Lip Gloss in Juliette: Review, Swatches and FOTD

So as I mentioned in a post a few days back, thanks to the renovation at home every day is like Christmas for me as I keep discovering brand new stuff lying around untouched and unused. One such product that I found carefully stashed in a box of hairclips (and no I have no idea how it got there:p) was a tiny tube of L’Oreal Paris Shine Caresse Lip Color. I have finally got around testing it for the past week and today I am going to share my views about it with you guys 🙂
Price: Rs 499 for 6 ml
The L’Oreal Paris Shine Caresse Lip Colors come in a metallic gold tube packaging and a sponge applicator. The tube has a transparent band in the middle that shows you the shade. The applicator has a leaf shape with a pointed end that comes pretty handy when you are trying to apply the product to the inner corners of the lips. I adore the packaging; it looks so pretty and is quite user friendly.

The texture of this product is a little tricky to explain. It has a runny gloss like consistency however when you apply it, it feels more like a thick gel on your lips. After a few minutes of application, the texture feels creamier, almost like a lipstick. The finish however remains very glossy and wet and it doesn’t settle down

The last time I experienced such a texture was with the Rimmel Apocalips Lipsticks however they felt very heavy on the lips and transferred like crazy. These on the other hand feel light, don’t transfer and that annoying sticky texture that you find in most lip glosses and a wet lipstick is not there. The only problem is that you have to be a little careful while applying it as due to the texture, the product at times has a tendency to accumulate at the edges of your lips.
This range has 7 shades available and the one I picked is called Juliette.  Juliette is a pretty orange based red. It’s not the classic blood red so it tends to brighten up your face almost immediately and is definitely a very flattering shade for almost all Indian skin tones.  However, if you are somebody who is not into bold lips, I suggest you skip this shade. For me…the brighter, the better: p

Pigmentation of the lip colors is on the lower side and also depends on the shade you get. For Juliette, I get an almost opaque layer of color after 2 swipes however I swatched a couple of shades at the counter and Juliette seemed to be the most pigmented of the lot.

The staying power of the product left me really surprised. I don’t expect a creamy lip product to last for more than 2-3 hours on me as I am addicted to coffee but this lip color did not budge for almost 5 hours.
Here is how it looks on me

Final verdict…..love it….I am not somebody who is into glossy products but this tiny tube changed my mind. The packaging is adorable, the texture is amazing and the staying power well that’s just mind blowing. I am definitely picking a few more shades pretty soon and would definitely suggest you to do the same.
