Lotus Herbals Colour Dew Nail Enamel in Orchid Pearl: Review

When it comes to painting my nails, I am a super lazy person. My sister is a big nail art buff so I do buy them but I rarely apply them simply because I don’t have the patience to ensure that they have dried completely so they always end up looking like a mess. Anyhow, I got these Lotus Herbals Colour Dew Nail Enamels just before Diwali and these are one of the few nail paints I really liked and thus I decided that they deserved to be the first nail paints to be reviewed on the blog ๐Ÿ™‚

Price: Rs 110 for 8 ml.
I really like the packaging of these nail paints. I find the tall slender glass bottle with a long silver cap very attractive. The long cap has a equally long applicator in it.I loved the fact that even though the applicator is as long as the cap, you can apply the nail paint without any issues. Somehow I felt it gave me better control but obviously some people are more comfortable with using short applicators. The quality of the brush is quite good and they give a nice and smooth finish.

I hate nail enamels that are too runny as that just means adding more layers to get an opaque layer and well the thick ones give a streaky finish. The colour dew enamels have this perfect consistency that gives you the colour on your nails after you apply two layers. Also they dry up pretty fast …like in a couple of minutes which is great for someone as impatient as me. The finish is really pretty. They give a nice glossy finish to your nails and yes the shade you get on the nails is the shade that you see in  the bottle.
The range has around 40 beautiful shades but one of the first shades that I picked is Orchid Pearl. I love violets and purples and orchid pear is a beautiful metallic violet colour that just changes the appearance of your hands. It is the kind of colour that would go with any outfit and occasion. I would definitely recommend you to check this colour in case you decide to buy some shades from this range.

Even though it is a pretty dark shade, it didn’t stain my nails even though i did not wear a base coat. It also remains perfect for 3-4 days after which it starts chipping especially at the tip of the nails. I am not to sure if it bothers any one apart from me but I don’t really like nail paints that have fragrance to them and thankfully these don’t so they do earn some extra points from me.

Here’s how they look on my nails and yes I know I don’t have perfect nails but I promise I’ll put in some effort towards them from now on ๐Ÿ™‚

Final verdict is obviously very positive. I really love the formula of this nail paint. The shade selection is amazing and the fact that  they are acetone, DBP and toluene free is definitely an added bonus. I  am going to pick up some more shades from this range and if you haven’t tried them yet I would recommend you to give them a shot.
