MAC Girl About Town: Review and Swatches

I was just talking about my love for pink and today’s post combines it with my love for It has been more than a month since I lasted talked about a lip product on the blog which is so weird considering my never ending love for lipsticks so today I am going to talk about my one of my favorite pink lipstick from MAC which is called Girl About Town

Price: Rs 1200 for 3 gms.

Girl About Town comes in a regular MAC black bullet packaging with label on the base of the lipstick. I kid of don’t like the packaging for the simple reason that everything you want to look for a shade, you have to read the labels. The good thing about the packaging is that it is very sturdy so you don’t have to be worried about carrying it around.

The texture of the lipstick is really soft and creamy so it glides on the lips like like butter. The lipstick has a glossy finish but the pigmentation and coverage is outstanding. I get a nice layer of color on my lips with just a single swipe and the pigmentation is so good that even when the lipstick fades, it leaves a nice tint behind. The formula is really hydrating and the product doesn’t feel heavy on the lips.

Coming to the shade, Girl About Town is a bright blue-based fuchsia that instantly kicks up the glamour quotient of your look. Blue toned colors are tricky to work with on Indian skin tone but this shade doesn’t have the usual neon tinge so the shade looks really pretty on most skin tones.

The staying power of this lipstick is around 5-6 hours. There was no bleeding or feathering the whole time I wore it but it does transfer a little. As I mentioned before, The lipstick fades of leaving behind a tint so you don’t have to worried about being bare-lipped if you have delayed a touch-up.

Overall, I really like the lipstick and the shade is one of my favorite options to go for when I am feeling like wearing something bright on the lips. MAC is becoming a tad expensive when it comes to lipstick but then again the quality they offer kind of justifies the price tag. Next time you are in the MAC store, do check out Girl About Town because I am pretty sure you will be unable to resist buying it once you try it.
