Maybelline Baby Lips Lip Balm in Pink Lolita: Review

“Life is full of ironies”…when I was a teenager, my mom used
to repeat this for what seemed like a zillion times and told me that I would
understand the true meaning once I become older. Well Ma, I guess now I know
what you mean. While on one hand the better half of my day goes into blotting
and touching up my face and finding the perfect moisturiser that would not keep
my skin supple but dry, the other half of the day goes into lathering my lips
with multiple layer of lip balm so that they don’t become all parched…no
seriously it’s like if I don’t do that my lips start resembling the land of
Rann of Kutch…cracked, patchy and dry.
I run out of lip balms like anything and considering what I
just told you, I like to carry backup and well a girl needs to have some
options right…..so at any time you would find at least three variants of lip
balms in my bag. I usually use one lip balm for a very long time but for the
past few months one lip balm that you would definitely have with me is the Maybelline
Baby Lips in Pink Lolita.
Price: Rs 150 for 4.5 gms.
packaging is pretty simple baby pink twist up tube. The product name and
details are marked on the tube but its starts fading after a while. The
packaging is pretty sturdy so you can carry it around easily.

Maybelline Baby Lips Lip Balm is supposed be tinted lip
but they are pretty sheer. Pink Lolita does have a faint pink tint to it
which shows up on my lips but I don’t think it will show up in case you have
pigmented lips. The lip balm also has this really sweet fruity fragrance which
lingers for a while so in case product with fragrance bothers you, skip this
The texture is really creamy and not waxy at all. The thing
that I love about the lip balm is the fact that even when you apply multiple layers,
you don’t feel as if the lip balm is sitting on your lips. It feels like it
gets absorbed which I prefer because it makes it easier for me to wear lipstick
over it. Also it has SPF 16 which is definitely an added advantage.

Obviously the lip balm did not keep my lips moisturised for 8 hours neither were they visibly renewed but it worked pretty well for like 4 hours. I don’t even understand why the companies make such silly claims especially regarding lip products.
I don’t think I have any issues with this lip balm apart
from the pigmentation but then again that’s something I can live with because
you can always use a lipstick to get that tint. You can definitely consider
this if you are looking for an effective yet pocket friendly lip balm for daily
