Maybelline Blush Studio Cheeky Glow in Fresh Coral: Review, Swatch and FOTD

I have the reputation of being a little too honest among my family and friends….so much so that every time we have a gathering I get a warning from my mom ” don’t be cheeky when you are there young lady ” and its usually  followed by an argument between us as to why it was not really a bad thing. This time around I even have proof to support my argument…thanks to Maybelline who came out with these cute blushes that had cheeky written all over them…see mommy….they are cheeky but they are cute 😛

Anyhow…these cuties were launched a couple of weeks back and event tough they played hard to get for some days…but I was finally able to get hold of them and have been trying them ever since and today I am going to share my views about them with you guys 🙂
Price: Rs 225 for 7 gms.

Maybelline Blush Studio Cheeky Glow blushes comes in this white plastic packaging with a transparent lid. I was kind of surprised to see that they are so tiny in size considering they carry 7 gms of the product. Packaging looks and feels a little cheap…I dislodged the cap and had to reattach it a couple of times but at this price I think you can’t expect too much.

The texture of the blush is very smooth . I was a little concerned about the quality of this blush since it was on the cheaper side, but Maybelline had definitely done a really good job.Even though its kind of powdery and you see excess product when you sweep your brush in the pan, you can see its quite finely milled and not grainy at all. Pigmentation is a little low. You get a light flush of color with a single stroke but you can then build up the color. Blending the blush is pretty easy….thanks to the texture it just fades  into your skin giving a very natural finish
Coming to the shade Fresh Coral…its a really pretty pink with a hint of coral. When I was finally able to locate these blushes I actually planned to pick all the 3 shades but some how peachy sweetie was on the cooler side and looked a little odd on me while creamy cinnamon looked really brown with a hint of pink so basically fresh coral was the prettiest of them all. It has the perfect balance of pink and peach so it is going to suit the Indian skin tones.

Even though I could see small specks of glitter in the pan, the blush gives me kind of a  matte finish on the cheeks which is just perfect for day wear. Staying power on the other hand is a bit of a downer…stays on me for 2-3 hours after which it just fades completely.

I don’t really have any complaints with this product other than the average staying power. Pigmentation is a little on the lighter side but then I don’t really wear too much blush so a light flush works for and even when I tried to build up the intensity, it did not look patchy so everything works fine at the end. To be honest, its a great budget buy and the quality Maybelline is offering at 250 bucks is actually worth appreciating.
