Maybelline Colorsensational Lip Liner in Stellar Pink: Review, Swatches and FOTD

Just when I thought my obsession with all things girly was getting toned down, we welcomed a little angel into the family so  its time again to get obsessed with pretty little things like bows, dresses, shoes and all things cute. Another really pretty and taking the risk of being stereotypical, girly thing I am obsessed with right now is this beautiful lip liner from Maybelline Colorsensational Range in the shade Stellar Pink.

Price: Rs 320 for 5 gms

The Maybelline Colorsensational Lip Liner has wooden pencil packaging that has to be sharpened after a couple of uses. The body of the pencil is pretty sleek and the color of the body is of the same shade as the lip liner so it is pretty easy to look for the shade you want if you own more than one shade from this range. The pencil also has a plastic cap to protect the tip and thankfully the cap doesn’t come off easily so no hassles in travelling around with it.

The shade, Stellar Pink is a frosty, shimmery baby pink with a silver sheen due to the shimmer particles in it. The shade is a little tricky to work with as it is a bit pale and would definitely wash out darker Indian skin tones. I for some reason, love the shade and really like wearing it especially with some of my ethnic wear

The texture of the lip liner is really soft so it glides on the lips without tugging or pulling. The liner doesn’t dry out the lips but it always advisable to wear a lip balm particularly under such a light shade as they tend to accentuate any kind of dryness.

Stellar Pink has a decent pigmentation and gives a nice opaque layer of color in a single swipe. The product is pretty light on the lips so you can layer it up if you build up the intensity of the color. As the finish is frosty, I would suggest keeping everything else minimalistic if you are planning to wear the shade on it own.

The lip liner stays on for a good 3-4 hours on its own and longer under a lipstick. The shimmer particles are very subtle and do not settle in the fine lines which is one of my biggest pet peeves with lip products that have shimmer in them.

Overall, I found the product to be pretty decent. The shade might wash out a lot of skin tones so it is advisable to test it before you buy it. Also, if you are not into shimmery frosty finishes when it comes to lip products then this is definitely not the product for you. I for one, love this range of lip liners from Maybelline and would totally recommend trying them if you are looking for decent quality without breaking your bank.
