Maybelline Fit Me Concealer in Medium: Review, Swatches and Demo

Its not that I needed a new concealer because I had just bought one before my wedding but I was soo excited to get my hands on the Maybelline Fit Me range that I just couldn’t resist adding the Fit Me Concealer to my kitty. I have already talked about the foundation in my previous post and today I am going to share all the details of the concealer.

Price: Rs 500 for 6.8 ml

The Maybelline Fit Me Concealers comes in a slim plastic tube packaging  with a black cap attached to the wand. The wand has a sponge doe foot applicator which is quite sturdy and makes application very easy . I honestly love everything about the packaging. It is very convenient to carry the product around, the plastic packaging ensures that we don’t end up having any kind accidents, the transparent tube helps you see the amount of product left plus you can identify the shade, the wand is sturdy and the shape of applicator is perfect for even application.

The concealer has a light and creamy consistency. The texture is very smooth which ensures that it blends well so no cakey finish. In terms of coverage, the concealer does need a little building up because a single layer offers medium coverage which might not prove effective if you have heavy pigmentation under your eyes. I am able to get the coverage I want by applying two layers and the best part is that even after layering, the concealer doesn’t crease or settle into fine lines.

Just like the foundation, the concealer gives a very powder based finish so if you have dry under eye area then you do not really need to set it with a setting powder. My under area is a little oily so I definitely set it up but with a very light hand because if you over do it, then it ends up looking ashy and dry.

Shade selection is one area I would give a thumbs down for this product because they just have 3 shades in India- light, sand and medium. I got medium which is an orange based shade and works just about right to correct any pigmentation under my eye but I am not sure that the range has anything for anybody who has a skin tone darker than mine.

Staying power however is quite good for the concealer and once you set it, it doesn’t budge for around 5 hours. I did see a little bit of fading towards the end of those 5 hours but nothing drastic.

Overall, I am pretty happy with the product and it definitely checks all the boxes when it comes to a daily wear concealer. I love the texture, the powder finish is such a boon particularly in the hotter weather and I haven’t had one experience where I could see any creasing or settling into fine lines with the product. I was using a more creamy concealer before I switched to Maybelline Fit Me concealer but I don’t see myself going back to it till I am done with the Fit Me concealer tube.
