Maybelline Strobing Stick in Medium/Nude Glow: Review, Swatches & FOTD

I think highlighters are one of the most underrated makeup products and do not get the attention they deserve. Why you ask? Well try wearing a bit of a highlighter when you are unwell or highlight the inner corner of your eyes when your eyes are all droopy and tired and bamm…you look so much better effortlessly. Needless to say for a lazy girl like me, highlighter is one of my go to products when I am not in a mood to put to much effort and the latest highlighter I tried is the Maybelline Strobing Stick

Price: $9.99 for 6.8 gms

The Maybelline Strobing Stick comes in a chubby gold roll up tube packaging with a transparent cap. The packaging is pretty petite so it doesn’t take a lot of space and is easy to carry around. The cap stays in place so I don’t have to worry about a mess in my bag. Overall the product looks great, it’s sturdy and travel friendly so  I do not have any complains with the packaging

The texture of the strobing is creamy but settles into a powder based finish once you blend it. To be honest, I wasn’t sure that this product would work for me because creamy products and oily skin don’t go to well together but thankfully this is not greasy at all. The finish sets to the powder form in like a minute or so giving you enough time to blend the product to make the highlight look more natural.

There are two shades available, light and medium. Light was a little too bright for my skin while medium is a bit warm so it suits the Indian skin tone. While light is more of a white base with silver glitter particles, medium is more earthy and has copper undertones that blend in with any skin tone over  NC 40.

Even though I like my highlighters, I hate the ones that make me look like a disco ball.  The Maybelline strobing stick is not chunky or glittery, instead it gives me this really pretty peach shine that gives the impression of a  naturally glowy skin. The highlighter blends like my dream so  no streaky or patchy finish. The pigmentation is amazing as well and one swipe is all I need to brighten up my face.  Also, the staying power is decent and if I set it with loose powder, it does stay on for a good 4 hours.

All in all, this one gorgeous highlighter. The product blends like a dream, the pigmentation is good and the highlight itself gives a beautiful glow. The staying power is alright and can be increased using a primer and it will definitely last longer on you if you do not have an oily skin. One major downside is that it is still not available in India ( why you do this Maybelline) so availability is a challenge.
