Milani Powder Blush in Romantic Rose: Review, Swatch & FOTD

Nothing catches my attention better than a makeup product with an exquisite packaging so it was no surprise when I saw the beautiful rose shaped blush on the drugstore shelf, I had to have it. I was expecting this beautiful blush from Milani to be expensive but lo and behold, it costed me a little over 500 bucks.

Price: $9 for 17 gm

The Milani Powder Blush comes in a golden pan packaging with transparent lid. The lid has the brand name on it and all the other details are available at the bottom of the pan.

The blush is shaped like a stunning rose and looks absolutely gorgeous so much so that I did not want to mess it up and tried using it as gently as possible. The blush looks quite expensive and is quite durable. The lid closes with a push lock mechanism so you don’t have to worry about any accidents mishaps when you carry it around.

Texture & Product

The blush has a very smooth texture and its quite finely milled. There are no fallouts and turns out the design is steadier than I thought so even after using it for almost two months, my beautiful rose packaging is perfectly intact.

All the shades available in this range have a matte finish which makes it the ideal product for a day or a night look. The shade I got is called Romantic Rose and it is a matte pinkish beige which looks amazing on my wheatish skin tone and would work well with most Indian skin tones as well

The only thing I do not like about this product is the fragrance because it smells a bit like chemicals but fortunately, it vanishes once you apply the product.

My Experience

My first experience with the blush was far from perfect. I ended up swirling my blush brush on the pan, got too much of the product on it and ended up looking like a clown. This happened because these are highly pigmented blushes so they aren’t the easiest blushes to work with and need a bit practice to achieve flawless application.

The color is pretty versatile and looks amazing during summers or the winters though I love it more during the winters as it gives me that natural looking flush and is the perfect cheek product to wear with a dark winter/fall lip color.

Thanks to the texture, blending in the product doesn’t take too much of an effort and it looks really natural on the skin due to the matte finish. The staying power of the blush on my oily combination skin is around 4-5 hours post which it starts fading and needs a bit of a touch up.

Final Verdict

Overall, it is a great product and doesn’t disappoint in any areas that matter. The quality is remarkable, it is super pigmented and the staying power is pretty great considering the price it retails at. This is my go to blush these days and I can’t wait to pick up the rest of the shades.
