Nivea Fruity Shine Lip Balm in Cherry: Review

Well it finally feels like winters in Delhi these days…everything looks grey, we haven’t seen the sun for a couple of days, I feel like carrying my quilt with me, I am wearing a zillion layers of clothes, and my big stash of lip balm is finally getting utilised as my lips feel super dry.
I kind of am in a lip balm hoarding mode so you will find alot of reviews on them in the coming days.  The first lip balm I bought this season is the Nivea Fruity Shine Lip Balm in Cherry. I have been using it quite regularly…its almost finished now so i though its the perfect time to review it. Want to find out more about it? Read on πŸ™‚

Price: Rs 129 for 4.8 gms.

Nivea Fruity Shine lip balms come in this simple and cute packaging. The cap stays in place so its pretty travel friendly

The texture of the lip balm is very soft and smooth. It’s not waxy and after application it almost melts on your lips and appears almost like petroleum jelly. This lip balm has a very fruity fragrance which I love.  It also has SPF 10 which is obviously an added bonus.

The lip balm looks really pigmented but it just gives a very faint reddish tint on the lips. I personally love lip balms that have a strong tint…so this one does fall  short for me in this area…however if you are a “I- want-natural-tint-on-my-lips” kind of a girl then you should definitely try this.

In terms of keeping the lips moisturised, these lip balms work fairy well. It stays in place and I don’t feel any dryness till the time I don’t eat anything. The moisturising effect however, doesn’t really last beyond two hours
Here’s  a quick look at the Yays and Nays:
Yays:
  • Affordable
  • Easily available
  • Cute and travel friendly packaging
  • Has SPF 10
  • Keeps lips moisturised for 2 hours which is pretty decent
Nays:
  • Not the most pigmented lip balms out there
Overall, I think its a pretty decent option when it comes a regular lip balm. Its easy on your pocket and the quality is pretty good. I find the tint a little faint so I usually never wear on its own and always wear a lipstick over it but that’s just me…if you are happy with a natural tint…I would recommend you to try this. Its available in 5 other flavors…so you do have a lot of options….I definitely loved cherry.
Have you tried these lip balms?
