NYX Slim Lip Pencil in Pinky: Review and Swatches

I am back with the next part of my NYX haul and today I am going to talk about the NYX Slim Lip Liner in the shade Pinky. I was looking for a lip liner to complement the zillion pink lipsticks I have in my kitty and buying a lip liner from NYX was a no brainer considering the quality of their products.

Price: $3.50 for 1.05 gms

As the name suggest, the NYX Slim Lip Liner comes in a slim and sleek black pencil packaging  with a plastic cap to protest the tip of the product. I love the sleep packaging and the cap stays in place so no hassles in carrying it around. The only downside of the packaging is that it is not a roll up kind of a pencil so you need to keep a sharpener handy to use this.

The word “Pinky”  reminds me of this cute little girl I know with two cute pigtails always seen wearing pink and looking all cute but the lip liner pinky is less cute and more sexy or bold. The NYX Slip Lip Pencil in the shade Pinky can be best described as a matte neon pink with fuchsia undertones. I love how bright and bold the shade is and the slightly warm undertone ensures that it suits most skin tones. In fact I love the color so much that I sometimes wear the lip liner on its own skipping  layering it with a lipstick all together.

The texture of the lip pencil is pretty smooth and you can apply it without any tugging or pulling. Pigmentation of the product is amazing and you get this nice layer of color on your lips. The finish is matte which obviously results in the fact that the lip pencil is a little drying so you need to prep your lips before you decide to use it and definitely wear a lip balm under it otherwise it will settle in fine lines. Staying power is quite decent and the product stays  on well for 4-5 hours post which it starts fading but it does leave a nice stain behind.

Overall, I am definitely liking the lip pencil and loving the shade. The quality is great, pigmentation and staying power is good and the quantity will last you a while. The only thing is that sharpener with you whenever you use the pencil and it is not easy to find NYX products in India.I am still kicking myself for not picking up more shades from the store so if you do end up finding the product anywhere, do try it.
