Palmer’s Cocoa Butter Formula Ultra Moisturizing Lip Balm SPF 15 : Review

There was a time when all I used were tinted lib balms but for some reason, I have grown out of that phase. I now look for products which are efficient and smell amazing. One of the top brads in the market when it comes to non-tinted lip balms is Palmer’s s. I am a huge cocoa butter fan so I decided to try the Palmer’s Cocoa Butter Formula Ultra Moisturizing Lip Balm with SPF 15

Price: Rs 130 for 4 gms

Packaging

Palmer’s Cocoa Butter Formula Ultra Moisturizing Lip Balm SPF 15 has a simple packaging. The lip balm comes in a plastic bullet with twist up mechanism. The tube is quite sleek and lightweight so perfect for travelling. Overall, I loved the packaging, its simple, neat, travels well and is totally user friendly.

Texture & Product

The lip balm stick is faint yellowish in color and has soft, creamy texture. I love the fragrance of this lip balm. The product  is pretty smooth and glides evenly . The texture is creamy but not waxy so you don’t feel it weighing down your lips. The soft texture ensures that the lip balms warms up leaving a thin layer and not goops of the products.

The first and foremost thing I loved about the lip balm is that it has a delicious cocoa butter smell. I mean, it is so delightful that I have to restrict myself from licking the lips every time I apply it. The smell isn’t very artificial-like and overwhelming but is heavenly.

My Experience

Coming to its effectiveness, the product does provide quite a boost to the state of hydration of my lips.It instantly softens and heals dry and patchy areas lips if used on a regular basis. The moisturizing effect lasts long as well and I do not feel the urge to reapply it for hours even during harsh winter months. I love the shape of the lip balm. Its petal shape ensures that application on every edge of the lips is a piece of cake.

I usually wear it during the day as it has SPF 15 which is added sun protection. Also, I usually prefer wearing matte lipsticks so this is just the lip balm that I need to keep dryness that comes hand in hand with that gorgeous matte finish. The efficacy of the lip balm stays intact for good 4-5 hours and more if you are wearing it in a warmer season.

Final Verdict

It is definitely one of the better lip balms I have used. The shape is unique and gives me control on application. It does what it is supposed to do and does it well. I am particularly impressed that it was able to keep my lips moisturized considering my obsession with matte lipsticks.
