Revlon Colorstay Moisture Stain Lip Gloss in Barcelona Nights: Review, Swatches and FOTD

A few days back I did a big Revlon haul….basically I needed to buy a makeup box for my Sagan ceremony and I did not have the time to go shopping so I went to every makeup kiosk in the mall near my workplace and ask them if they had any scheme running where they would provide me with a vanity case. Thankfully Revlon had a decent scheme and a very pretty box up on offer so I spent the next 40 minutes filling it up with lots of goodies…which means you will be looking at lots of Revlon products on the blog , the first of which is the Revlon Colorstay Moisture Stain Lip Gloss.

Price: Rs 675 for 8 ml
The Revlon Colorstay Moisture Stain Lip Gloss comes in a sleek black rectangular tube with a heart shaped wand. I like the fact that the outer packaging is of the similar color as the shade of the product because its kind of my pet peeve if there is no way to distinguish shades based on their packaging….sorry…to lazy to read labels :p . The applicator is another thing I really like because one, its has a heart shape which makes application at the edges an easy- peasy job and second its a little bent which again assists in an even application.

Texture wise I would say its thick and creamy. Thankfully neither too thick or creamy…thicker than most lip glosses but not heavy or sticky because we all know nobody likes that I have something on my lips feeling. It spreads easily but you have to work to get that even finish after application….the thick texture is the culprit here however a good thing about this texture is that you can skip wearing a lip balm underneath. They a smell a little funky though but the fragrances vanishes after a few seconds so doesn’t bother me much.

Now you know I love pinks so obviously when I allowed myself to just pick one out of the six shades available in India, I picked Barcelona Nights. Its a beautiful pink shade…more like a raspberry pink. It does a little dark on my lips then what it looks in the tube but I don’t mind…for me its always the bolder the better.

In the pigmentation department, this lip gloss earns a lot of points. One swipe gives a good opaque layer of product on your lips so if you have pigmented lips or are just fond of bold lip colors then these lip glosses are for you.

Staying power is around 4 hours. It does fade after meals but it leaves behind a pretty pink stain however the stain is a little uneven so prefer reapplying it every few hours.

All in all, these lip glosses are decent products. I am happy with quality and I love the shade I got but they are definitely a little heavy on the pocket.
