Revlon Colorstay Whipped Creme Foundation

Hey Everyone!!!
If you follow me on Twitter, you would know that a few days back I bought the newest addition to the Revlon foundation family- Revlon Colorstay Whipped Creme Foundation. When it comes to foundation, I am always a little skeptical so when I noticed it in the store ( because of its classy packaging) , I quickly googled it and boy oh boy…everybody had soo many good things to say about it. Now that I have put it to test ( through out my brother’s wedding and Christmas and new year…yes it was a long test 😉 ) , I am ready to tell you guys everything about it.

Price: Rs. 800 for 23.7 ml
What the website has to say about it:
Finally, truly decadent makeup offers ultimate performance. The mousse-like texture feels like silk on your skin. And, the time release formula balances skin for a flawless look. All day flexible wear without flaking, caking or feeling heavy.

Though Revlon  has launched 16 shades around the world, here India we have have just 4 shades. I bought the foundation is the shade warm golden.
The foundation comes in a glass jar with a shiny black lid.Now I have kind of a love hate relationship with the packaging. It definitely looks very classy and chic and yes the first thing that I noticed was the packaging, but the jar is too bulky which makes it not such a travel friendly product. The jar has a white cover inside which prevents the product from spilling . I  definitely don’t like dipping my hand to get the product out of the jar as I end up getting foundation under my nails so instead I usually use the product that is there on the white cover.

The consistency of the foundation appears to be quite thick almost as if it has been whipped. Looking at the product you might have doubts about blending it but trust me it takes no time to blend and even if you decide to build up the coverage, it doesn’t make your face look cakey or makes you feel uncomfortable. I wore around 2-3 layers of the foundation during the wedding and it never felt heavy on my skin.

The foundation leaves your skin dewy after application. It leaves a slight whitish cast when it is applied but once it sets you can instantly see your that your face has brightened. Oily skin beauties like me might need to set it with powder but the best thing about this foundation is the fact that when you are wearing this you rarely have to touch up or blot . The foundation also contains SPF which means you can avoid applying another layer of sunscreen.

I am not too sure about the 24 hr claim but yes I did wear it for long stretches during the wedding, where I was running around and dancing( which means lots of sweating ) but I did not see any melting or any need of touch up on my face.

Application of this foundation can be a little tricky as the consistency is a little different form most foundations. I usually blend it with my fingers as the product tends to build up on any of the foundation brush i tried to use to apply it.To get a better finish, use a stippling brush and go all over your face in small circular motion.
So to summarize, this foundation definitely ticks all the check boxes in my list in terms of finish, staying power and quality. It definitely takes a little bit of time to get used to the consistency and learn to work around it but once you get the hang of it, you will love it,
Now to talk about some of the things that I don’t like about this product, well, the packaging is definitely unhygienic and also not that travel friendly.  The shade selection is also very limited.
All in all, I love this foundation!!
It has worked really well on me and I would definitely suggest you to try it if you can find the shade to match your skin tone.
