Sivanna Colors Summer Gradually Compact Eyeshadow & Blusher Palette in Shade 05: Review & Swatches

My review about products I bought from Impressions continues with yet another pocket friendly brands – Sivanna Colors. While Sivanna has a lot selections in every type of makeup, the most popular of the products are eyeshadows and blushes. I decided to get a taste of both using the Sivanna Colors Summer Gradually Compact Eyeshadow & Blusher Palette

Price: Rs 360 for 20 gms

The Sivanna Colors Summer Gradually Compact Eyeshadow & Blusher Palette comes in a black plastic packaging with a transparent top. The packaging is pretty simple and inexpensive but durable so no accidents if you carry it around.  There is no applicator or mirror in the packaging but I am not whining about it as I usually throw away the applicator anyways.

Texture & Product

The texture of the eyeshadow is powdery and finely milled. The eyeshadow are soft and even though they are glitter based eyeshadows, they do not feel coarse or heavy. The texture allows me to blend the eyeshadow effortlessly.

The palette has eight eyeshadows with a mix of white, orange, pinks and browns. They are all glitter based eyeshadows with a frosty finish. The surprising thing about the palette is that the description mentions that the shades could be used as blushes but I do not see myself using any of the colors apart from the white on my cheeks and that to as a highlighter.

Pigmentation and Longevity

The pigmentation of the eyeshadow varies with the shades. The darker shades like the brown, purple, orange and pink are more pigmented than their white, gold and bronze counterparts. The eyeshadows do give better color pay off if you wear a base under it.

Staying power is decent and the eyeshadows last around 2-3 hours. The eyeshadows last a few hours longer if you are wearing them over a base or a primer.  Once the eyeshadow starts fading, it leaves behind some of the glitter particles but nothing drastic.

My Experience

The palette has some lovely colors that I love playing around with but as I mentioned before, I do not see any of the shades as a possible blush. Some of the lighter shades turned out to be a bit disappointing but overall the product was a decent buy. I do have to layer up the shades to get a reasonable wash of color on my lids, particularly the lighter ones but even after layering, the eyeshadows do not give a patchy finish.

Final Verdict

Overall, the palette is a good budget buy and there are a few pretty color that work really well with Indian skin tone. I am not criticizing the quality because to be honest, the company has done a good job at it considering there are 8 shades in it. I am not saying it is the best eyeshadow out there but it is a good option particularly for beginners.
