Sleek True Color Lipstick in Heartbreaker: Review, Swatches and FOTD

Even though Sleek is quite popular because of its palettes which by the way are amazing, I always got quite fascinated by their lip product sections. Finally when the sale season arrived I picked cute little lippies and even though it was very difficult to choose shades out of all the tempting colors in their shade card, I picked 3 beautiful colors. The first one I tried as soon as the package reached me was a shade called Heartbreaker and today I am going to talk about it.

Price: $7.49 for 3.5 gms.

The packaging is pretty cute. I love playing with these chubby black bullets. Though I was kind of concerned about the quantity because these lipsticks because the size of the bullet is pretty much half of what a usual lipstick looks like from the outside but then you notice that the bullet is wider than most lipsticks. The packaging is travel friendly and the cap stays in place no matter what. The only issue is that they is no way to distinguish the shades except reading the label at the bottom.

Coming to the shade….well….Sleek True Color Lipstick Heartbreaker is a pretty bright pink shade with coral undertone. Its kind of the perfect neon coral pink and it was definitely love at first side for me as soon as I applied it and  can’t even keep count of the number of  compliments and queries I have received whenever I wear this shade.

The brightness is complemented by the fact that these lipsticks are super pigmented. I don’t even have to think about a second swipe because I end up with a rich coat of color on my lips with the first one.

In terms of the texture and finish, the finish is matte while the texture is a creamy in the beginning and then it starts to settle and becomes matte. The texture is definitely a little drying once the lipstick settles and because its a very bright lipstick, if you don’t wear a lip balm underneath or you have chapped lips, the lipstick will  accentuate the dryness and settle into fine lines.

Staying power is around 5-6 hours and it leaves behind such a heavy tint which is less brighter than the original shade that I kind of feel I am still wearing a different lipstick. No bleeding or feathering observed once the lipstick has settled so all in all in terms of quality, this product gets a thumbs up. The only issue I faced with the product was the dryness it causes but that’s not something which a good lip balm can’t resolve.

Here are the swatches

And here is how it looks on me

All in all, if you are into neon shades than this definitely a shade you should try Heartbreaker. I have also heard that its a close dupe to Mac Party Parrot and if you were like me and missed it then go pick this one up. Availability is an issue as we don’t have Sleek in India but then again what are relatives living abroad for :p.
