Sunsilk Natural Recharge Shampoo and Conditioner: Review

Nothing turns a bad day at work to a nice evening than a cute little packaging sitting on my bed waiting to be opened. What makes this experience a little better is when the company goes an extra mile to send there products in a super cute and pretty packaging and that’s exactly what the people from Sunsilk did when they sent the shampoo and conditioner from the new Sunsilk Natural Recharge range. I have tried both the shampoo and the conditioner for over a  months now and today I am going to share my views about with with  you guys 🙂

Price: Shampoo–Rs 64 for 80ml , Conditioner–Rs 64 for 80 ml.

Lets talk about the packaging first. Unlike most ranges from the Sunsilk that usually have a particular color assigned to it, the Sunsilk Natural Recharge packaging is a combination of moss green and pearly white . The shampoo comes in a bottle while the conditioner comes in a  squeeze-out tube. Both the bottle and the tube have a flip open cap and the packaging is sturdy and decent in quality so no complains here.

When it comes to the texture, well the shampoo is a tad runny than what I would have liked it to be simply because you just end up with more product than you need so think before you turn that bottle in your hand. The conditioner on the other hand is creamy and thick so a little goes a long way. Both the products a strong floral fragrance that has a tendency to linger for hours post hair wash.

One of the reasons that I was excited to try this shampoo was that its paraben free. I am not completely convinced with the paraben causes cancer theory but it feels nice to know that there is a chemical less in the usual long list of chemical ingredients.

The shampoo lathers pretty well with a little water. It cleans up my hair , washes off all the oil from my hair in a single wash, doesn’t aggravate hair fall and my sensitive scalp doesn’t react to it. However, my hair feel pretty dry after I use this. This is even after I used it with the paired up conditioner as well as my favorite conditioner and the results were obviously worse when I did not use any conditioner with it.

The natural recharge conditioner on the other hand fared much better than the shampoo. Its really light, hydrates your hair and even if you end up using too much, it doesn’t weigh down you hair. As I mentioned, when I used the shampoo and the conditioner together, the results were not to great, however when I used it with my regular shampoo, I had no complains. It won’t do much if you have extremely dry hair and its definitely not the best conditioner I have used but yes its a pretty good option if you are looking a budget friendly conditioner.

Lets take a quick look at the Yays and Nays

Yays:

  • Sturdy and user friendly packaging
  • Paraben free
  • The shampoo lathers well , cleans the hair and the scalp.
  • Doesn’t aggravate hair fall
  • Conditioner hydrates the hair well.
  • Doesn’t weigh down the hair
Nays:
  • Shampoo causes dryness
The products are not something have to try. Skip the shampoo completely if you have dry hair and try the conditioner if you want something that’s would do a decent job and not be heavy on your wallet.
