The Body Shop Himalayan Charcoal Purifying Glow Mask: Review

I hope you guys are not bored with all the skin care post because to be honest summers for me is all about skin care because every tiny amount of makeup I wear melts off so I usually don’t experiment too much with new makeup during the hotter months. As the title suggest, this going to be a review for another skin care product but do not fret my fellow makeup fanatic, I have some really exciting posts coming up for you as well but for now lets talk about The Body Shop Himalayan Charcoal Purifying Glow Mask.

Price: Rs 2495 for 75 ml

The Body Shop Himalayan Charcoal Purifying Glow Mask comes in a beautiful black glass jar packaging with a black plastic screw on cap. The packaging looks pretty luxurious but it is definitely not something you would want to play around with because at the end of the day, it is a glass jar. Another issue I have with this packaging is that it doesn’t come with spatula so you basically have to dip your brush or take or out using your own spoon to access the product.

The mask has the perfect texture because it is neither to creamy nor too runny. The texture is different from most of the mask I have used because you can see the tea leaves as exfoliants in this mask that pretty much act as exfoliants. Also, the fragrance of this product is soo soothing and the menthol, green tea and tea tree oil combine to give a very relaxing environment which somewhat reminded of my favorite spa.

The thing that you notice after the cooling effect of the methanol is the tingly feeling and it does tingle quite a bit and you definitely do not want it to be too close to your eyes because the methanol and eucalyptus is pretty strong. The mask takes around 20 minutes to dry off completely and you do feel the tightening and firming effect when the mask is drying.

The mask definitely gives me a clean skin and facial like effect without the effort of visiting a salon. My skin feels absolutely fresh and super soft after I have used this mask but I do need to moisturize my skin after I have washed it off because it removes the excess sebum so I don’t advise using it more than twice a week. The green tea particles act as the perfect exfoliants and gets rid of all the dry and dead skin and I noticed that after every use, the blemish marks left behind by those “monthly” acne attacks vanishing gradually.

The only thing that I do not like about this mask is that it is a little messy to clean up so I usually apply it before taking a shower. Also, because the mask becomes really firm after drying so you need to take a bit of an effort to remove it. I usually press my wet hands against the mask till it becomes a little soft and then massage the product in a circular manner to exfoliate my skin while washing it off.

Overall, this is definitely my go to skin care product these days and I love what it does for my skin. My skin feels so much better after I use this mask and I can see visible results which is not something you can say about alot of products. This is one product I would recommend spending the extra bucks on because you will get the results.
