The Body Shop Tea Tree Blemish Fade Night Lotion: Review

Hello Ladies ๐Ÿ™‚
I did a small TBS haul post a while back and asked you guys which product wanted me to review first and well hands down the majority wanted to know more about The Body Shop Tea Tree Blemish Fade Night Lotion. Now that I have tried and tested the product for  some weeks now, I am ready to share my experience with all of you.

Price: Rs 895 for 30 ml.

The product comes in a greenish plastic bottle with a pump dispenser. This packaging is common for all the products in the tea tree range. TBS usually is very careful about its packaging and the same goes for this product as well. The packaging is sturdy, pump dispenser is hygienic and there is a plastic cap to make sure the pump dispenser remains clean. However, I do wish that it came in a transparent packaging so that I could see how much of the product was left. It has a strong tea tree oil fragrance that fades a few minutes after application.

The texture is thick and smooth. At first the lotion might appear a little thick but when you apply it, you see that it spreads without too much effort. This texture also ensures that a little quantity is enough to moisturize the face and neck. I just take two pumps of this lotion and it is more than enough for me which also  means that even though the quantity is 30 ml, it will last a while.

It is said to be a night lotion but to be honest, I don’t see why it cannot be used during the day too. It is not a greasy lotion at all. In fact, after 5 minutes of application, my skin appears really matte. My skin feels really fresh in the morning and even in this hot weather my skin never feels oily after applying this.

Coming to the fading blemish claim, well the reason I took time to review this product is that I wanted to verify whether this product actually works on lightening blemishes. I had a couple of acne marks on my left cheek, so I decided to check whether this product works or not by its effect on these marks. I have been using the product for almost 2 months now and I do see the acne marks getting lighter. They haven’t vanished completely but they are definitely lighter than they were before.
Lets take a look a quick look at the Yays-Nays list
  • User-friendly and hygienic pump packaging
  • Leaves the skin feeling moisturized without making it to oily
  • A little quantity is enough to moisturize the whole face and neck.
  • True to its claim…it lightens blemishes
  • No way to know how much product is left as the packaging is opaque
  • Expensive
I do feel that this product is a little expensive if you look at the fact that it just 30 ml however it has worked really well for my skin. I would recommend this to every one who has oily acne prone skin because its effect is worth every penny that you spend on it.
