The First Few Weeks with Dell Venue 7

Hello guys….so I am back with the next installment of the series of reviews I am going to do about the Dell Venue 7 tablet. I received  this tab almost a month back and in case you haven’t read my first impression about it then just click here and read what I though about it after using it for a few days πŸ™‚
Well since the last post, I have had the time to play around with tab a little more., discover alot of features that I like and also come across stuff that I didn’t  :(. But I always prefer the good news whenever I face the good news-bad news situation so lets talk about the good stuff first ( because the list is longer :p) and then I’ll share what I didn’t like.
The tablet’s dual core Intel Atom processor and Android 4.2.2 lets me download apps in a jiffy, go to and fro between the zillion apps I downloaded without any delay, watch videos on YouTube without any glitch and even play all the games I want…yes even the ones that have heavy graphics.

Hooked to chess these days πŸ™‚

Yup…I have been bitten by the candy crush bug too :p

It also has a 16 GB in built memory that gives me the freedom to download anything and everything I want. I use this tab alot for my at home workouts, so I have all my fitness videos stored in it along with a huge playlist of songs. Add to that a dozen apps apart and some movies…phhew…but the good thing is that I still haven’t faced any space issues πŸ™‚

My favorite apps on the home screen πŸ™‚

Keeping tab on what’s trending on the tab :p

My favorite work out app πŸ™‚

I know I might be the last person in atleast my social circle to do this but I have just discovered the joy of paperless reading thanks to the tablet. I have always loved books and there is just something about holding a book in your hand that prevented me from shifting to e-books…little did I know that it would just take one e-book to change my opinion….its just soo convenient πŸ™‚

Another great thing about the tablet is that even though the tab has a single speaker, the audio is absolutely loud and clear…just the way I like it….makes my workout time so much more fun πŸ™‚
I am also loving how easy it is to blog using this tablet especially when I am reviewing a product as I like keeping notes about its specification throughout the day. All I have to do these days is to reach out for my tab, open my blogger app on it and keep adding notes and drafting my post through out the day. It saves soo much of time that goes into writing into a post and the energy that goes into opening a laptop…I am lazy girl…remember :p

Working on a post πŸ™‚

The only thing I don’t like about the tablet till now is the camera. The tablet comes with 3 MP (rear as well as front-facing) camera. I have had 3 MP camera phones so I have fair idea about the picture quality they deliver however every time I take a picture, I notice that they have this weird reddish hue :(.

The battery backup dropped as well. It was around 10 hours initially but it has now reduced to around 6-7 hours. I am obviously not happy about how quickly the battery backup dropped but then again can’t blame the tablet if I use it day in day out.
I always feel gadgets are like boyfriends….the first month with them is always the best. They shower you with gifts and flowers and well they try to woe you and for me all in all, it was a great first month with the Dell Venue 7 tablet. But then again just like guys…gadgets show a different side just when you start getting used to them and  I am pretty sure that’s going to happen here as well so I’ll be test it a few more months before I give my final verdict….do stay tuned to see how well  it fares in the coming months πŸ™‚
