Travel Diaries: Staycation at The Roseate, New Delhi

I absolutely love the concept of a staycation and how they give you the required break when you cannot find the time to go on longer holidays. I particularly like to plan staycations for special occasions , to skip the hustle bustle of a noisy party with annoying relatives. One such short trip I took recently with my husband was to the beautiful property of The Roseate in New Delhi

The Location

I know having a staycation in Delhi when you live in Delhi doesn’t sound like a sane thing to do but when your special occasion falls on weekday of a week full of deadlines, you take the time you get to enjoy yourself, no matter how insane it sounds. Since my husband and I, both hate to drive, staying at a place that is 30 minutes from our place was definitely a huge plus.

The first thing you notice as soon as you enter the property is the greenery that surrounds it so much so that you completely forget that the resort is situated just off one of the busiest highway linking New Delhi and Gurgaon. The resort has done pretty well in terms of keeping the place small with just 50 rooms and utilizing the rest of the space to create an ambiance of a nature retreat in the middle of the capital city.

The Rooms

The highlight of my stay with The Roseate was definitely the spacious rooms with floor-to-ceiling windows overlooking the beautiful garden. An iPad controls everything in the room including the lighting, window shade, and television, along with contacting the housekeeping services, ordering food and other hotel services and activities.

The Food

I can’t come up with any other word to describe the food I had during my stay other than absolutely scrumptious. Kiyan offers world cuisine but you need to try their European and Indian section. Chi Ni offers modern Chinese dishes but the portions left me asking for more. The in-house Iah Bar offers you some delectable cocktails that remind you what good mixology is all about.

Other Services

Our staycation included an offer to avail the spa services which we did. Aheli, the in house spa looks beyond elegant with its all white decor. The spa offers treatments that combines parts of Shiatsu, Thai and Swedish massages.  It also has a fitness center that offers a calm and quite place for the guess to workout.

My Experience

I absolutely loved every bit of stay with The Roseate. The rooms are designed to cater to every need of the guest, spacious with a separate sleeping area, sitting area and work desk which offers you an uncluttered luxurious experience. I loved waking up to the beautiful sunrise overlooking the stunning gardens of the property. The spa was rejuvenating and the pool surrounded by trees offered the perfect surrounding to relax in the evening.

If you are looking for a relaxing and luxurious getaway that doesn’t involve driving hours than a staycation at The Roseate is what  would recommend. The property, the room, the staff, the food, pretty much everything exceeded my expectations.

Which is your favourite staycation location?
