Vichy Normaderm Tri-Active Cleanser: Review

Vichy is one brand I have been hearing such good things about that last month I knew I have to try something to see if it lives up to all the hype. Thanks to my combination-oily skin, cleanser is my best friend and that’s what I picked up….the Vichy Normaderm Tri-Active Cleanser.  I have been using it for a few weeks and today I am going to talk about it.

Price: Rs 390 for 50 ml

The cleanser comes in this tiny green and white tube, with a white flip-top cap. This tiny tube fits easily in your bag plus the packaging is pretty sturdy so overall it’s completely travel friendly.

The name tells us that it’s a cleanser but it’s actually is actually a 3 in 1 product. It can be used as a   cleanser, scrub and even a mask….which makes it absolutely perfect for someone as lazy as me as it saves the effort of carrying and applying different products for different steps of a skin care routine.
When you squeeze this cute tube, you will find yourself looking at a mint colored paste with tiny blue beads and a minty fragrance that actually accentuates the feeling that you are looking a toothpaste rather than a cleanser :p .

The size of the beads is appropriate and thus it’s not too harsh on the skin when you use the product for exfoliation. However, it is still not a mild exfoliator so it is advisable not use it more than twice a week
The paste like consistency is because it has kaolin clay in it and just like all clay based product, using it as a cleanser might do you more harm than good to dry skin. However if you are a victim of oily skin like me then darling you will love this product. It leaves the skin squeaky clean and helps in oil control for almost the whole day.

I definitely love using this product as a clay mask. Even though the paste looks pretty thick, it spreads pretty easily on the whole face. It dries up pretty quickly and a little product is enough to cover the whole face. Once it dries up, you can use cold water and gently remove it while massaging your skin and reaping the benefits of exfoliation.

It’s definitely not a very pocket friendly product and you do get a shock when you look at the size of the tube. But trust me the guy who said “Good things come in small packages” knew what he was talking about.  This teeny tiny tube will last you months and you will love the product more and more after each use.
Let’s take a quick look at the Yays and Nays
  • Travel friendly packaging
  • A 3 in 1 product….saves time and effort
  • Has a mild minty fragrance which is perfect for summers and monsoons
  • Works well as a cleanser, scrub and mask
  • Helps in oil control
  • Leaves skin clean, soft and refreshed
  • A little quantity is enough so the tube lasts for a while
  • Perfect for oily and combination skin

  • Not meant for dry skinned beauties

I love the concept behind this product…..a single product that works well as a cleanser, scrub and mask. It’s is definitely ideal for those lazy days when you know your skin is crying out for some TLC but you don’t feel like taking out a zillion products and working with them. I also reach out for it when I am travelling….who wants to carry 3 different tubes when this cute little thingy can do the job.
