  • Some of my skin care myths that were busted:

SPF 30 provides twice the protection of SPF 15
After reading up a few articles online I realized that it provides about 4 percent more protection than SPF 15

One should use change shampoos every 6 months because your hair gets used to the one that you are using. This is absolutely false! My hair turned into frizzy mess within a week of changing my old shampoo. You should stick to products that suit you best!

    Expensive products are the best
Not true! I bought a bunch of expensive lip balms for the winters but none of them helped. The only thing that worked for me was my Grandmom’s little tip; rubbing some coconut oil on the lips and the belly button.

  • The myth I'v heard most is that a sunscreen with SPF 30 offers double protection than a sunscreen with SPF 15, which is completely untrue because SPF 30 offers a little less than 4% more protection than SPF 15. You just need to keep reaplying the sunscreen to protect your skin.

  • The Myth is I have heard that All wrinkles form by age 25 — they just start to show later. But I feel it is a myth as Wrinkles are the result of a loss of collagen, the main structural protein of the skin. As you age, the body begins to produce less of it, which keeps skin from being as firm as it was when you were younger.

But while that decline in collagen happens to everyone, and wrinkles will form along the lines that are moved in facial expressions, sun exposure breaks down collagen even more, leading to wrinkles that otherwise might never have happened.

  • 1 ) You don't need sunscreen in the winter.
Even I Agreed With This . Before I Knew.
    lets Read In Detail

It's cold and cloudy, so we may think that we can stop using sunscreen until sunny days at the beach this summer, right?

    No Its Completely Wrong !

"The sun and UV rays are present winter, spring, summer and fall,"

The UVB rays (the ones that cause your skin to burn) aren't as strong in the winter months; therefore your skin is at less risk for a sunburn. UVA rays (the ones that cause skin aging and skin cancer), however, are approximately the same strength year round. Our Daily Protection SPF #30 is a must every day, 365 days a year.

So We Have To Use Sun Screen . Which Has SPF 30 Sunscreen & With UVA/UVB blocker 🙂

2 ) AN SPF #30 OFFERS TWICE AS MUCH PROTECTION AS AN SPF #15

FALSE: An SPF #30 actually offers less than 4% more protection than an SPF #15. The keys to good sun protection are to apply sunscreen generously, reapply often, and avoid the sun during peak hours.

3 ) "I HAVE AN SPF IN MY FOUNDATION MAKEUP, SO I DON'T NEED TO WEAR SUNSCREEN"

FALSE: If you apply a regular cream to the face and then apply a foundation with an SPF, the sunscreen in the makeup has a difficult time penetrating through your day cream to effectively coat and protect the skin. It is best to apply a generous amount of moisturizer with a sunscreen directly on the skin first to adequately deliver the specified SPF.

    4 ) OILY SKIN DOESN'T NEED MOISTURIZER

FALSE: Oily skin doesn't need heavy and greasy oil-based moisturizers (you've already got enough oil). But water-based moisturizers are necessary to keep the skin cells healthy and to discourage dead skin cell buildup. Try Renée Rouleau Sheer Moisture to give the skin the water it needs without any oil.

5 ) MOISTURIZING SOAPS WON'T DRY OUT YOUR SKIN

FALSE: The binders that hold a bar of soap together are in an alkaline base (high pH balance) which will strip all the water and natural moisture out of the skin, causing the surface of the skin to dehydrate. Your skin cells need to stay moist in order to be healthy; without water, acne conditions and sensitive skin will be aggravated. "Moisturizing" bar soaps and any kind of bar soap (even if it is an expensive one) will strip and dehydrate the skin. Our sulfate-free gel cleansers are an excellent soap substitute.

Thank You For Giving An Awesome Chance To Explore About Myths. So Many People Didn't Knew About This 🙂 Happy To Share With You 🙂 !
    Cheers.

  • right 4m my 12th then college and till now i'v seen my friends using baby soap as it remains mild 4 skin and it will never harm their skin .
i think it's a myth 'coz with every growing year skin changes and need of skin also change then how can a baby soap manage every thing ??

  • The most common skin care myth i have heard is that oily skin does not need a moisturizer.. well it is not true because the skin needs to be hydrated.. while those with dry skin may use the normal moisturizer oily skinned beauties should use water based ones which do not make the face greasy and keep it hydrated..

  • The most common skin care myth i have heard is expensive cosmetics are better than inexpensive but its not true. The amount of money i spend on skin-care products has nothing to do with the quality or uniqueness of the formula. Its all about good n bad products we choose, it has noting to do with price

  • The common myth we hear from old ladies is
facial is required only for ladies 35 + of age.

The fact is nourishing your skin, taking good
care like cleanup and facial helps the skin to breath and thus making it look young
    and glowing always.

  • Skin care myth I have heard is eating oily food or spicy food causes pimple. Well its not true . The very common reason of pimple is it is heridity n second most common is dust n pollution.

  • The most common skin care myth I have heard is, we should not apply honey on our skin since it will make the hairs to turn white color. This is not true. Honey is a good anti-septic given by nature. It soothes and heals the skin. It is also a good moisturizer. It reduces swelling and inflammation. You can use it as a face mask and the facial hair will not become white which is completely a myth.

  • The most common skin care myth BLACKHEADS ARE DUE TO DIRTY SKIN
whereas Blackheads are caused when your skin produces too much sebum. Dead skin cells get in the path for the sebum to exit through the pore. This blocks the pore, creating a clog. When the clog nears the surface and oxides, it turns black.or in simle language they are created from excreting oil(excess oil) on face

  • The most common skin care myth which I've heard is that Turmeric is very good for all skin types. But this is not true. Though Turmeric has many good properties, it is not good for those who are having dry skin and combination skin. This is because turmeric makes your skin to become dry, if you use it regularly.
