Wedding Series: 6 Months To Go!!!!

I can’t believe its already June because somehow it just seems like I wrote the last wedding update a few days back. Anyhow, I think I have managed to get some of the important stuff done in the last two months though there is still a mile long list of stuff that I need to get done waiting for me πŸ™ .

Things I got done:

  • Wedding Saree: Yay!!! I finally found a place to get the saree I want designed. The designers I spoke to earlier gave me estimates that were just way out of my budget. But then as usual family came to my rescue and one of my sister-in-laws  recommended a place in South Extension from where she had got her wedding lehenga designed. I wasn’t sure in the beginning if this guy would be able to create what I wanted but eventually everything fell into place and my saree is already on its way to get designed. I will get the first look at it in a week or so πŸ™‚
  • Groom’s Sherwani: Selected. We ended up liking a design in the same shop from where I am getting my saree designed and got a pretty sweet discount on both the things. Shout out to our sweet sister in law who kind of solved two major issues πŸ™‚
  • Panditji: I had no clue that finding a pandit would be such a task. Thanks to what is referred as “Saaya”on my wedding date, all the pandits we knew were booked. Then after speaking to what seems like 20 odd people we finally zeroed on one. Also, I am pretty amazed how much attitude and conditions these priests have or is it just the case with bengali pandits? Anyhow, we finally found one who was free on the our wedding day and who seemed pretty co-operative atleast right now….let’s see how he behaves on the wedding day.
  • Wedding Jewellery: Half of it is done. A bengali bride usually wears gold jewellery for the wedding but I did not want to invest in to much gold jewellery for the simple reason that i don’t see how I will be able  to wear it again. So I bought the main set which has a necklace and earrings and now I am going to buy matching maang tikka, nath and other stuff.
  • Beauty and Fitness Regime: I finally got a beauty and fitness regime in place. No sleeping in makeup, CTM twice a day and a couple of other very effective beauty hacks. For my fitness, I am doing a mix of things using a couple of fitness apps I spoke about in my this post.

Things I still need to do:

  • Mehendi Artist: Still looking for one….and it would be great if you guys can help me here…anyone out there knows a good mehendi artist in the West Delhi area please drop the details in the comment section πŸ™‚
  • Decorator and Decorations: I have found a decorator but I am still finalising ideas about the theme.
  • Guest List: Still have a tentative one and it is soo long that its driving me nuts. I did not even know we were so social till the time we starting writing down names in a list :p
  • Invitation Cards: Well as we are still working on the list so invitation cards are on hold πŸ™
  • Outfit for smaller functions: I found something for my Mehendi but I am still looking for an outfit for a puja which the groom’s side is going to host and for my haldi.
  • Wedding Trousseau: Bought a lot of sarees and a couple of very pretty suits from Chandigarh but I think I am half way. Next stop is Chandni Chowk so drop your recommendations about the shops I should visit.
  • Honeymoon Trousseau: Got a lot of stuff recently thanks to tsunami of online sales. I would say I am 70%  there and the rest would be taken care by the July sales.
  • Makeup Trousseau: Again bought a couple of things but still have a long way to go. By the way, would you guys be interested in a bridal makeup must have post? Let me know by commenting below πŸ™‚
